  • EU to propose common charger for all smartphones, ignores Apple's protest

Apple with it’s using USB-C for iPads but Lightning for others has no leg to stand on with this argument. It switched its laptops to USB-C creating huge ewaste. Apple likes to argue both sides of the coin when it comes to its costs. Very disingenuous.
Apple already uses usb-c/thunderbolt on its laptops, macs, and on the iPad Pro and air.  Unclear why it can’t bring Usb-c to iPhone as well.

That is because apple product communicate with the charger, and they are using proprietary technology in their chargers. Whether it is USB-C or lightening. Apple does not want to share their technologies with the masses. This is why apple tends to get better performance from their products and batteries since the are controlling the end to end and the protocols. I have used third party chargers with the various apple product and I have seen performance difference and charge times. Apple sees you are using a non apple charger they appear to go into a default charging and powering mode. They do this to protect your Apple products.

  • Apple Watch sensor has racial bias, claims new lawsuit

This lawsuit isn’t about what Apple did it was about what happen in NYC and how people of color were treated during Covid. As it was stated O2 skin sensor are less accurate or completely wrong the darker the skin becomes. If medical professionals did not know this that is their fault not the device you have to know the limitations of your tools. But I’m this country you can sue for any reason.

This is what the stock drop $4 after this ruling, this means apple is could be cut out of profits of the apps when developers place a payment method in their app to turn things on and get rid of ads.

How many of you want you credit card information stored over lots of different companies servers. I personally limit how many places have my credit card information. As much as I hate Amazon it make doing transaction easy. I also have CC information with Paypal which many cite accept so I pay with Paypal and they hand the transaction and none of my personal information is stored on third part cites. Think about all the website who have been hacked over the years.

I don't think that's true at all.  Nothing says Apple isn't entitled to the revenue cut.  It will just be a matter of transparency and accounting.  Nothing says they can't charge developers who do this a fee, either.  Apple could add to its policies a provision that 3rd party payment systems incur a 10% surcharge automatically as a risk adjustment, and require quarterly disclosure of 3rd party sales that would have normally gone through the app store.
True, apple could say they still get the cut if you process the payment else, but there is already precedence against this, Neflix is one of them, Apple does not get a cut of any payment you make to Netflix even though you down loaded the apple from the app store and you do to Netflix website and setup the recurring payments. If Apple tried to make developers pay they would just reference that already do not collect a commission for outside the system payments. It a catch 22 for Apple and the developers.

We will have to see how this plays out.

  • Steve Jobs saved a long-time Mac developer from an early death

This is just another example that Steve saw the bigger picture better than anyone.

But music and movie industry fought every Technology that allowed the every day person to record, they fought cassette tape industry they fought VCR industry and they lost in court. This time they tried to keep it court and force companies to comply. For most part they have been successful you can not longer record tv shows or streaming audio without lots of hoops

the content industry wants you to pay each and every time you watch something other with a direct payment or through ads.

remember you use to be able to watch tv for free.

  • EU law will force Apple to blow open its entire hardware and software stack

Apple’s solution to this law is to create a stripped down phone with no security features, no pre-installed apps and let the EU created their own App Store and figure how to make everything safe and secure. Then not sell the phone the rest of the world gets. If the EU things they can do it better let them.

  • Apple's plan to scan iPhone photos for child abuse material is dead

As I have said before it does not make sense unless you go after the sources not the end pervert. Plus if the image is not in the database to compare the hash you are not going to catch the new sources. Glad apple saw the error of the altruistic ways, yes they thought them were well meaning and doing it for right reason, but at the cost to everyone.

Just one more attempt at creating a facial database of every American, making it easier for the FBI to locate anyone. Is this in our Constitution?

So, it has to be written in the Constitution to be valid?   How many existing laws are in our Constitution?
The only ones who need to fear identification are those breaking those laws.
Now that we all know you think surveillance is good and do not have an issue with it and believe you're are as pure as the driven snow. How about provide all of us all your personal login information and let us determine if what you are doing is acceptable if we all decide you are not we can turn you over to the authorities to deal with you. Remember it is not what your think is right and wrong it is what we all think is right.

BTW, the government's only job is to ensure that no one infringes on our rights and pass no law which infringe on those rights including the government elected and non-elected officials and yes we all have a right to privacy so it is written into the Constitution.
