“When installing a third-party battery, or a genuine replacement” yeah, so what’s the reasoning for not supporting battery info with a genuine part? Because a 50 year old with 40 years of electronic experience can’t follow the same procedures as a 20 yr old to replace a freaking battery? It either works or it doesn’t. Typing in a code or connecting to some Apple hardware after making the swap doesn’t make the physical act of replacement error-free on the Apple employee’s part, or error-prone on the end user’s part. THIS kind of crap is how Apple is going to have problems down the road with governments re: right to repair, monopoly. I’ve been a supporter since the Apple ][ integer machine with cassette deck, but come on, this is a bunch of BS. I’m sure the argument is going to be that they can’t guarantee that the battery will blah, blah, blah, but a freaking disclaimer solves the issue on their end. EULAs are full of them, mostly in their favor anyhow. 

Not sure who needs to hear this but the spec comparison chart I just realized was a chart for the first time after viewing comments. In the main article in Safari on iPhone 14pro with iOS 17, the “chart” shows as a vertical text list. It’s been like this every time one of these comparison charts has been used. For some reason it looks correct if you click on comments. I always wondered why the specs were listed in such a weird way. 

The Sonnet Thunderbolt 3 to Dual HDMI Adapter 4K 60Hz has been available for over a year and is $80. I have like 10 off them at work and they're great. Single TB3 port on the iMac Pro, In fact you can plug two of them in (one on each of the two Thunderbolt 3 buses) and have FOUR 4K60 outputs. Don't know what the specs are for a TB3 port on the lappys vs. the iMac Pro, but I can't imagine why it would be different. TB3 should be TB3. Now if you plug in anything else on a TB bus, you lose drop from 40Gb/sec to 20Gb/sec for display bandwidth and would not be able to support 2x 4k60 on one bus, as I understand it. I'm assuming any Mac laptop with two TB3 ports has one bus, and four TB3 ports is two busses.
