How Apple's smart home revolution begins in 2025
Apple needs to improve the speed of Apple Home loading and refreshing. We built a 5,000 square foot home trying to utilize HomeKit 100% and got close. Every light switch and blinds and shades are controlled by Lutron. I moved everything from Lutron to Apple Home on our iOS devices and Macs so I would use Apple Home but after a few months of only using the Apple Home app I had to go back to using the Lutron app about 90% of the time due to Apple Home responding so slowly. Calls to Apple support have not provided an answer or fix.

All Europe sees is NEW money for them to spend coming from tech companies. These fines should be passed on to users in those countries since they are a tax.

Apple rejecting apps is unfair competition, declare rejected app developers
Like my wife always tells me when I complain about some design feature or lack of in my new car, she tells me to design my own car. The developers are free to design their own smartphone and App Store like I can start my own car company. I like Apple protecting me and my smartphone. When Apple stops doing that I’ll go back to a dumb flip phone!

As an Apple shareholder I hope Apple has factored this cost of doing business in Europe into their pricing in Europe. Seems to me Europe looks at large U.S. tech companies like Apple to pay for their bloated national budgets.

Happy retirement and thank you for your years at Apple. I still have one of his business cards I got in Dallas at the launch of the Macintosh IIfx, in fact I still have a Macintosh IIfx in my garage.

At what point does Apple tell countries like Japan NO! We are not giving away our technologies for free. At some point Apple will have to make a decision to pull out of a market like Japan and let their citizens voice their opinion at the voting booth.

macOS 26 says goodbye to the classic hard drive icon
It's been a while since I've seen ResEdit mentioned. I forgot about ResEdit. I got my 1st Mac back in 1984.appleinsideruser said:

There have been desktop icon packages, etc. for macOS/OS X for decades and for earlier Apple operating systems before that. I'm using some disk icon for my Macintosh HD boot drive that I found in 2011 when I yanked the factory Hitachi 2.5" HDD spinner from my Mac mini 2010 server and replaced it with a 120GB SSD from OCZ.
I think I found the one I'm currently using via an Internet search (yeah, I know many people online have seemed to have forgotten how to use search engines):

I just searched for "macos ssd icon" and switched to image results.
If you find a compatible icon, all you need to do is cut and paste via the Get Info window for that particular object rather than try to hack the entire operating system. It's way easier than the bad old days when mucking around with ResEdit was often required.

I’m all for updating the hard drive icon… but this new one does not have an appealing look. At least to my appeal.
