Why is it that every time some complains about something Apple does not do well, they get attached like Apple can do no wrong?  I have been using Apple products for years and we have many in the house but Siri and maps SUCK!  I have so many issues with both it’s not funny.  I drive a lot for work and try to be hands free as much as possible but Siri and maps are so frustrating that I am surprised my veins haven’t popped.  Just earlier today I was looking for a particular location.  I was on the road and knew it was a few kilometres ahead and asked Siri for directions so I would not miss it.  Sure enough it gave me another of their locations instead that was over 30 minutes away.  I tried again and mentioned the street name this time and it gave gave me ice cream stores I had never heard of.   Many times I will ask it for directions with an address and it gives me options in the US even though I am in Toronto.  It’s f$$$ing ridiculous how bad they both are.  After using Siri since inception it seems it does not know any of my tendencies.  It’s a frickin joke.  Surprisingly I haven’t gotten into an accident yet when I get frustrated as it happens almost on a daily basis.

Nonsense.  Apple is already hooked up to the grid even though they claim that the new campus is 100% green energy.  How about all the mining of minerals and rare earth metals taking place in China and the Congo where child and slave labour are used??
how about the thousands of tons of concrete alone used in the base of 1 wind turbine non of it possible without fossil fuels??
How about the millions of birds and bats killed by (many of which are protected and endangered species) wind turbine blades every year???
what about the 1000s of miles of transmission lines from the turbines??
How about the fact that you need 100% fossil fuel back up when the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine???
CO2 is NOT a pollutant!!!!  Each of us almost 8 billion people exhale 2 pounds of it every day!
Biomass is destroying forests globally for wood chips another “green energy “ joke.  Trees that have takes decades if not centuries to grow are being bulldozed over in the name of green energy.
Green energy is a scam.  Wake up people.

1. Solar and wind turbines are a scam.

solar panels require rare earth metals and minerals.  Due to mining restrictions in North America, most come from China where there is an immense toll both socially and to the environment. There is child labour, slave wages, no safety requirements, no environmental requirements, waste is busted dumped around the areas where the mining takes place, villages are destroyed, half the mining is controlled by gangs.

As for wind turbines, well the amount of material required to build the blades, all using fossil fuels(how ironic), each turbine requires 700 tones of concrete for its base (again the irony of all that fossil fuel used).  Then the hundreds of miles of wire.  Each year in the US it’s estimated that wind turbines kill 1.5 million birds and bats plus other insects.  Many of the birds are protected and endangered species.

did I forget to mention you still need fossil fuel back up.

2.  CO2 IS NOT A POLLUTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!
it’s the gas of life.  All life on earth would cease without it.  I am exhaling it now as I type this very long post.  My room is not getting any hotter.  In fact it’s helping green the planet.  For the majority of earths existence the CO2 levels have been higher.  No problem has arisen.  Currently CO2 is at 400ppm.  Nuclear submarines when under water have levels at or exceeding 5000ppm and somehow the submarines are fine as are the soldiers.
CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere and fossil fuel burning accounts for 3% of that!!!!!  So the 97% of CO2 that is naturally occurring is sitting on the beach but the 3% from fossil fuels is causing chaos.  REALLY!!!!

Renewables are a scam.  The earths temperature has been flat, statistically speaking, for the last 25 years.  It’s global cooling we should be worried about.

When you plug in your Tesla, where do you think the electricity comes from??? It’s not growing on trees.

None. Privacy and security isn’t the issue. Siri sucks in many trivial ways such as keeping conversations going, understand relevance and context, “intelligence” and voice recognition.

Simple things such as apostrophies it adds stop it from understand and recognising whole sentences. Which has nothing to do with privacy or security:

Again, not privacy or security. And don’t get me started on voice recognition. Sometimes Ok, sometimes incredibly bad and frustrating. And hasn’t improved any in the last few years at understanding me. Even when it became tuned for my country it improved zero in understanding me and my accent isn’t that strong and I don’t speak quickly.

Also worth pointing out I’ve given many specific feedbacks about Siri, only to see them go unfixed.

Could not have said it better myself.  I don’t have an accent and it doesn’t recognize basic stuff.  Recently I asked Siri to call a close friend while driving.  Then it said “do you want to confirm so and so is your mother?”  WTF????  It’s horrible.

So on Saturday I was asking  stupid SIRI for directions.  I am in Toronto, it’s only the 4th largest city in North America.  So first street , dumbass gave me directions to somewhere in Mexico.  Second try at another street was a US option.  Real smooth.  It sucks!

Wind farms don’t provide “clean energy”.  The amount of materials and fossil fuels required to make the three blades and base is enormous.  900 tons of steel, 2,500 tons of concrete and 45 tons of non-recyclable plastic.  Then there is the devastating effect the number of birds, bats and other insects killed by the blades.  Also the long term health effects of living within a miles of the turbine.  Oh and what happens when the wind is not blowing????

Give me a break

Charging higher and higher prices for all new versions of products.  Just look at how much the 6plus cost vs the XS max.  Every year it’s at least a $100 more for the newer phone.  Then going up the storage ladder is ridiculously expensive.  Including the shiftiest headphones with the iPhone.  including Useless chargers with the iPhone.  Charging ridiculous prices for new cables and chargers.  The new pencil costs $30 more than the last one.  The iPad keyboard is a pos and it’s almost $200!  I got my daughter a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9” and got the top Logitech keyboard and stand which is cheaper and a 100 times better.  I love my apple products but sick of being rippped off.  Did I mention Siri sucks as does maps.  All the profits go to the shareholders and executives.  Executive compensation is out of control.  Oh and how did that stock buyback work out? Not too well.  Buybacks are a bad idea.  That money should have gone to more dividends and probably way mire r&d and possibly more m&a.
