  • How we ended up with the 'Pregnant Man' Emoji

There is nothing logical about a pregnant man. Nice attempt to write thousands of words to legitimize it, but a pregnant man emoji is as useful as a emoji of a fish riding a bicycle. Both are pure fantasy.

  • Family alleges AirTag was used to stalk mother and daughter on Disney World trip

This happened to me on our last trip to Disneyworld. No one was stalking us. When you are on a ride, or in a line for a while with someone who has an Apple device - air tag, AirPods, etc - the tracking notification can get confused thinking that device is trying to track you when it’s just a device on someone close by.

I doubt anyone was stalking the person who this story is about, but I don’t discount the anxiety that notification can cause. When I got it for a few minutes I was panicked, but then I figured out what was happening.

  • Apple Intelligence & iPhone mirroring aren't coming to EU because of the DMA

The problem with the DMA is that Apple is being penalized for things not in the DMA, but rather things that go against the ‘spirit’ of the DMA, according to Vestager who is in charge of penalizing companies until her term is over at the end of the year. No company can read minds and a business environment that can penalize you for 10-20% of your worldwide income on a whim is not a business environment that anyone wants to take any chances in.

If I were Apple I would have just pulled out of the EU altogether. It sucks for EU customers. But these are the people they put in charge and unless they make a change I’m pretty sure an EU pullout is in Apples future.

  • Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts to depart in April, hands mantle to Deirdre O'Brien

Oh thank god. Tim had been grooming her for the top spot and I've been fearful she'd get it. She brought nothing to the table, and I'd argue that she was out of her depth at Apple during her entire tenure. Apple's a technology company. I know they made a brief pivot to fashion with the Watch introduction, but that was clearly a failure (the fashion angle they were playing up, not the watch). I don't know if Ahrendts was partially responsible for the fashion push or if she was brought on to support the push after the decision had been made, but it was clearly a mistake (ask anyone who owns an Apple Watch Edition).
