  • Apple sues Jon Prosser over iOS 26 leaks

Prosser isn’t that dumb. If he were to discuss something that could implicate him, he’s do so in person or via pseudonym Signal chat.

That text string was clearly designed to cover his butt should the need arise. Lo and behold…

but no question, what took place was wrong on the parts of himself and even more so the person he spoke with - and quite possibly the apple employee. Have a hard time believing an employee with THAT important of a secret “forgets” to properly handle/store/secure the device. And it’s clear that he was showing it off at the least to one person who didn’t need to know.

As much as I love tech leaks, Apple should really go hard after the three of them. This is wrong. Were I the design team or apple leadership, I’d be beyond furious.
On the contrary, the screenshot shows that he used his phone to communicate about what he was doing. For Apple to get a subpoena to search his phone they needed cause, he just provided it. He has just opened up the entire device to be reviewed during discovery. Now, any contacts and communications on that phone are fair game. He isn't just dumb he is profoundly stupid and no lawyer would have signed off on him doing that.
Which is why I surmise the real meat of the communication took place on Signal.

And now that I think about it, he probably used Signsl on a totally different device than that iMessage. Prosser isn’t going to go around promoting unreleased trade secrets without a competent lawyer/legal team. People who tend to operate on the fringes of the law tend to be up to speed on how to hide what they’re doing.

I like a good rumor or even leak as much as anyone. But on the big things, I just feel bad for those who worked so hard to surprise and delight only to be deflated by some lard with a camera and a platform beating them to the punch with their own creation.

Prosser has his moments. But this was just really pretty sad.

  • US fears iPhone supplier BOE is a Chinese military company

Th briefing is a long time away, but should be illuminating.

If any of this is true, people are right to be concerned.

Unfortunately, it’s often the case that smoke is a prelude to discovering fire.

BOE is such an unnoticeable entity that something alarming must have come up to pay that much attention to it.

Be interesting to see what comes of it.

Huge loss for BMW owners. Been looking forward to this and now it's gone. That sucks.

  • Apple backs US rare earth magnets supply chain with $500 million deal

Smart move. Should have done this long ago - or started a recycling project itself, considering how important this is.

And they could have rolled it into their green program. Could have been a part of their Mother Nature skit. LOL

  • No India tariff deal means Apple will face iPhone import fees eight times higher than befo...

8x? Last I checked 25% from 10% is 2.5X. And we don't know the minutiae. So if that sticks, I doubt it's going to be some crazy trouble for apple. The president is pretty good at this stuff. I'll wait for more concrete news to break regarding the details on this before reacting. but from what I have seen so far, including with the UK. Trump is doing great things with these trade deals. We wanted fair balance. And so far, we are getting it and then some. Looking forward to see how India responds.

They have been. They've been working with this company refurbing rare earths with Apple for six years. This is addressed in the article.
Indeed. But not in this scale.

If it was sufficient, they’d not need this partnership.

Sometimes there is “doing something” and other times there is doing it with intent.

Interesting thst Apple is calling it part of their us manufacturing investment.

While it fits, it would seem to make any hope of something grrat coming out of that just a tiny bit less.

  • Trump Mobile's made-in-US iPhone 17 competitor is really made in China

I highly encourage all the super smart MAGA folks to buy this amazing piece of technology! I’m sure it’s super amazing, very secure, and will be a great purchase!

Holy F - people voted for this absolute insanity.
Most MAGA people are very intelligent. It’s why we voted the way we did - to get American back on track.

Doesn’t mean we agree with everything associated with those we elect.

There is wheat and there is chaff. Best to separate the two.

It’s the same with being an Apple customer. Love most of what they do. But sometimes it’s not so good. You acknowledge what’s good and what’s not so good. But overrall, it’s pretty good.

The guy is lying through his teeth... again. Well, no surprise there. He's not fit to run a boy scouts group, let alone a country.
Lying about what? Have you heard him speak about this at all?
I don't know if he has talked about this but acting like the guy doesn't have a completely strained relationship with the truth is completely disingenuous. His lies have been well documented. Anyone that is unaware of them either isn't paying attention or has the cognitive abilities of a rock. And not one of those smart rocks.
You made a false claim. Best to just admit it instead of running in circles.

Business-wise, makes sense for the family organization to do this. Capitalize on popularity and make some money.
No, it doesn’t make sense, because that’s unethical and wrong. It’s why we ask presidents to divest prior to coming into office. It only makes sense if one is void of ethics and doesn’t mind doing wrong.
Is the president involved? I thought his family took it over in 2017. Or is the family not allowed to make a marketing connection to the fact that their father was and is the President? Donald Trump Jr. is not Donald Trump Sr.
You thought wrong. Yes, the president is involved. He is enriching himself while in office, profiting from the very same industries which he affects with tariffs, executive orders and social media posts. He is doing crypto currency deals with foreign countries while making state visits.

  • Trump gives Apple a giant break with wide-ranging tariff exemptions

    Xed said:
As I’ve been saying since before this whole thing happened.
No, you said that the world has been ripping the US off and that Apple needs to bring manufacturing back to the US. Trump giving in yet again with this exemption doesn't hurt China and doesn't bring "jobs" back to the US. But nice try.
Wrong. I said all of the above - including that Apple would sail through due to exemptions. Mike W. even commented directly telling me "it's not going to go the way I think it will go" in response to one of my posts on the matter. I also added late that The USA has indeed been getting ripped in world trade forever now and that it's about time someone stands up to global bullies. Manufacturing does belong back in the USA - but also elsewhere. America doesn't need to abdicate all manufacturing. Much healthier to be both a product AND services economy. The fact is Trump is very easy to read and to predict when you realize that he has America's best interests at heart ad takes action accordingly. It is no surprise that he initiated reciprocal tariffs or that he paused them when the word wanted to make a deal. It's also not shocking at all that he kept up the tariffs on China, but did so in a way that doesn't hurt American companies (though it also weakens the tariff impact on China) - who he is doing this on behalf of. It's the art of the deal in action - set an extreme goal, get them scrambling, then when the entrenched positions are broken, maneuver the chess pieces, keep them guessing, and settle on the realistic area you wanted all along.I know it's popular on this site to hate on the man, but it doesn't make much sense.

As I have been saying all along, Apple is going to be OK. They have someone standing up for them on the global stage. I have a sneaking suspicion that more is to come with the EU as well.
