    The fact that the usa gets 30% out of this whole China only gets 10% is quite the “art of the deal.”

    you could kind of read the Chinese ministers faces exiting the negotiations thst it was something like this. 

    People forget how powerful the United States really is. 

    will be interesting if progress is made on rare earth. 

    Hopefully this means apple can breathe easier while continuing to diversify the supply chain and get serious about efforts at home.

    s sense. If cook said he was going to build at home snd thrn got some exemptions, but then gave indication of going back on his word, then the tarriffs would factor again. 

    Pretty sure if cook committee to doing SOMETHING in the usa soon, there would be no tarriffs. 

    Apple has escaped so far. And now they’re in tje hot seat. Hopefully they make the right decision and do something back home. 

    It’s a tough spot. But it’s also important to make the hard decisions today in order to secure a brighter tomorrow.

    Business-wise, makes sense for the family organization to do this. Capitalize on popularity and make some money. 
    No, it doesn’t make sense, because that’s unethical and wrong. It’s why we ask presidents to divest prior to coming into office. It only makes sense if one is void of ethics and doesn’t mind doing wrong. 
    Is the president involved? I thought his family took it over in 2017. Or is the family not allowed to make a marketing connection to the fact that their father was and is the President? Donald Trump Jr. is not Donald Trump Sr.

    Will be interesting to see the fruit of continued talks between cook and the president. 

    Tarriffs are no fun. But necessary to restore the balance of power in global trade. 

    The president has tried to help apple through this as much as possible. Bow it’s Cook’s turn to do his part. Hopefully this lights a fire under him to get after it.

    Interesting article. 

    As we’ve seen in this admin, things are always in motion and never stuck in the mud. 

    So we will see how these deals turn out for the long term benefit of America. 

    But one thing is for certain: something msjor had to be done. Constantly losing ground to other nations was not sustainable. Sure, you might get a cheaper iPhone today, but you may not even be able to get an iPhone tomorrow. 

    I’ll take long term over short term any day.

    Lol. iPhone pro max was 1099 in 2019. 1199 in 2024 under Biden. 

    Gas was 4.13in California state average in 2019. 4.87 in 2024. 

    The ford mustang GT was 35335 in 2019. 42495 in 2024. 

    Eggs were 1.46 a dozen. In 2024 that went to 4.15 under Biden. 

    Trump just got here. 

    Let him fight the hood fight to get things back on track. Apple building st home is s good thing. Free and fair trade is s good thing. The USA has been tariffed to desth. It’s about time America recoups some of that until those same countries drop their tarriffs. Any American company building up hostile nations by giving them huge investments and building their economies instead of their homeland should be ashamed.
