  • Apple sued over 2022 dropping of CSAM detection features

So deciding not to implement something is now a crime even if your implementation would be faulty. We can never get out from underneath of this madness until class action suits are eliminated. Let's get crazy...Apple had to remove/disable the able to do blood oxygen capability after the ITC ruling and later chose not to settle (license) with Masimo. Knowing that Apple knew how to implement it, had implemented it and could continue to implement it, if someone had a heart issue that could have been identified by the blood oxygen app should they be able to sue because of Apple's decision to not implement in new watches?

    or

Luxury cars typically have more safety features or more advanced ones than basic cars. A manufacturer adds pedestrian sensing with auto-braking to avoid hitting someone who goes in front of or behind the car and collision with them is likely. A person is hit by a car that does not have the pedestrian sensing auto-braking feature. Should the person who was hit be able to sue the auto manufacturer because they chose to exclude this safety feature for whatever reason (price/cost, model differentiation, design limitations, waiting for a major redesign, supply issues, etc). I see no difference.

  • Microsoft's Copilot PC and the M3 Mac killer myth

Your typical home Windows users does not see $1000 notebooks as affordable or reasonable. They have been using the sub $600 POC's not knowing there is a better experience to be add once you get the $1000 or higher. They will not spend the money and no Mac users are jumping ship. Everything more or less stays the same. The shame of it is acting like this is the only computer that can do AI even though Apple has had the equivalent set up 4-5 years ago. The media consists of a bunch of dull tools buying whatever line Microsoft will give them.

"Recall" is something that employers will love. Makes current monitoring look amateur.

  • Europe demands Apple open up iOS for better accessory compatibility

Would be nice to see both Google and Apple pull out of the EU and watch their citizens revolt. I believe Google pulling out would affect Samsung and other Android vendors because Google controls the core of the operating system and therefore controls licensing.

  • Why Walmart still won't accept Apple Pay

It all comes down to saving money by processing credit card transactions in house. If I am not mistaken they have their own bank though it is not a traditional one. I believe they are the only customer which gives them a way to avoid the banks skim, but they still get hit with a swipe fee and 20 or so other charges for each swiped. It is amazing to look at the breakdown on my wife's business credit card processing statement. Nobody rides for free on the credit card networks.

  • RCS-enhanced iMessage in iOS 18 still has security issues when adding Android users

I don't care what is done so long as the only people with the blue bubble are iPhone users.

  • How Tim Cook gets Trump to help Apple

I am tired of the capitulation to T**** (the loser). He’s a criminal. That half of America voted for a criminal makes no difference3 in his criminal state.

When a corporation bows to a politician, it is called fascism, or state-capitalism.
when a political leader determines the winner of an economic sector, it’s fascism.

Um actually ߤ㰟ᆨe has less than 50% of the total votes as of note
    Three points.
    1. Call it what you want, but not working with government whether you like them or not is a dead end road. You work with the tools you have and that includes people you don't like for any reason you want.
    2. The election is over. He won, so adjust accordingly just like the rest of us have. In 4 years there will be a different group of candidates.
    3. Less than 50%, but in reality every person who chose not to vote agreed to take whoever won so you can count them as well.

Trump is like the manager at work who knows very little and meddles in everything and possible does not like you. The only option is to work around it until they quit, your resign, or one of you moves to a different department. In this case the quitting part is his and it is in 4 years.

  • US may ban the most popular home router over Chinese security fears

There is zero chance TP-Link routers are used anywhere within the DoD or even the rest of the government. There might be contractors using them though.

As for their pricing if it were a crime to price something artificially low o create a monopoly nearly every single Internet company would be guilty when the all but give away products and services and then jack them up once the competition is gone. Too many to mention but Uber and VRBO are two and of course Microsoft with Teams. Microsoft’s whole business model of only a few dollars per user for each of their components lassoes in every company because they make it painful to not go with all of their products.

Apple is one of the few consumer companies who can never be accused of undercutting anyone on price.

  • New UK ID app yet again fumbles tech that Apple has already perfected

No politics needed at all. The complete incompetence of government does not require a bright light to find. As soon as I hear any entity say we can do it better I know taxpayer money is about to blown and it will cost more than existing solutions. It also will not perform as good, not have the functionality it needs or being even as remotely as secure. Even if you hate America the Germans are giving their solution away.

You always take to gimme when trying to go about on your own so long as the gimme's are proven solutions. Passing on them shows complete fiscal irresponsibility.

  • EU may be reassessing billion-dollar Big Tech fines as it waits for Trump

There is a new sheriff in town who is not a pushover. Like him or not it is the reality the EU and other governments are facing and rethinking these fines and penalties will go a long way.

Just eliminate the charging port and go completely wireless. Problem solved.
    That is what will happen.
