How to delete the 'mshelper' malware from macOS

And that's not even getting into malware distributed on non-free products, such as when Sony distributed rootkits on their music CDs. So, plenty of "legitimate" companies have distributed adware/malware with their products. -
Microsoft begins sunsetting process for Visual Studio for Mac
StrangeDays said:Weird, just a year ago they were doing a public beta on VS for Mac.A year ago they were doing a public beta for a particular version of VS for Mac, but it's been an actual released/supported product for several years before that. And it actually existed as Xamarin Studio before Microsoft acquired Xamarin and rebranded it, so it's technically been around since 2016.

Bono takes the blame for the 2014 iTunes U2 album disaster
crazyexcalibur said:It should have been a free download through iTunes, not forced onto people’s devices.
As I recall, it wasn't forced onto people's devices. It automatically showed up in your list of purchased albums, but it didn't actually download until you chose to. It certainly didn't download onto mine.

macOS targeted by evasive crypto-jacking malware
DAalseth said:This is the kind of s*** we will see more of if they force Apple to allow alternative markets onto macOS/iOS/ipadOS. Eventually you will find your HomePod mining crypto for some lowlife.
Psst... software from non-Apple controlled sources has been allowed on macOS for about (*checks notes*) 39 years now.

Long-time Apple reporter Jim Dalrymple retires after almost 30 years of work
lkrupp said:Dalrymple was one of the few who could be trusted to play it straight when it came to Apple. He called a spade a spade when he thought Apple was wrong about something and he defended Apple when the company was under felonious assault from so-called experts. Rene Ritchie is another, so is Jason Snell, Adam and Tonya Engst. None of those individuals are analysts beholding to their financial bosses. The rest are mostly hired guns out to promote agendas.
Don't forget The Macalope as well.
