  • Apple Notes hides flexibility and power underneath a veneer of simplicity

One of Apple Notes best feature is how fast it syncs via iCloud from one device to the next. Regardless of whether you're syncing text or photos, it takes approximately 4 seconds:

Try that with OneNote or Evernote. And unlike Apple Notes which pushes notes/updates, Evernote, for example, syncs either via set intervals or manually.

Google Keep pushes updates but is much slower than Apple Notes (taking twice as long) and not quite as consistent:

  • Google director hints at advanced Assistant tech coming to Apple's iPhone

In a common example, users can ask "who is the President of the U.S" followed by related questions, such as "how old is he." Alternatives like Siri and Amazon's Alexa force users to treat every query separately.

Actually, Siri does that. The feature is called Sequential Inference and with Siri you can ask "Who is the President of the United States?" and instead of asking "How old is the President of the United States?", you can do a follow up question of, "How old is she?" (To which the answer should be she's 69yo).

  • Apple acquires automation app Workflow, title to remain on App Store for free

Great acquisition. I've been using this app since it was released (around 2 years ago). I do everything from uploading images/GIF to Imgur (to share like I'm doing here), downloading YouTube video onto my iPhone, downloading files via Safari, create an Apple Music playlist based on the artist to on Beats 1 (or any other Apple Music radio station), Scan QR code etc. Here's the workflow widget on iPhone (which covers half what I do with Workflow as it also works as Share extension):
