  • Review: Apple Watch Nike+ isn't much different from Series 2, and that's OK

The claim of one day battery life is not my experience...

I put my watch on at 8:30 am 100% charged... at 11pm I have 50% battery left, and that includes a workout and using my watch independently of my iPhone. I've also used my watch for sleep tracking, wore it while I slept for a full 8 hours, woke up, and had only lost 6% battery. Now is it comparable to other Fitbit's and Garmin's? No. But Fitbit and Garmin don't do half of what my Series 2 does.

    Technology only goes so far.

"The issues of the Apple Watch Series 2 remain: Battery life is only good for up to a day,"

Until you can get to two days on a charge, one day is all you need. What good is a day and a half on a charge?
Go for a two-hour outdoor run with GPS, play music natively on the device during your workout, and regularly use apps throughout the rest of the day, and all of a sudden you won't get that full day of charge. Just like obsessively checking Facebook on your iPhone will nuke battery life. I'd argue that longer battery life without sacrificing performance is good in any context, even if it's "only" another half day for the average user.
I'd argue that in those cases of high usage you'd need to charge your watch. The watch charges incredibly fast however so until battery tech improves.. we'll have to do what we can...
