  • Review: Synology D1019+ Network Attached Storage device

    I bought a DS212 a long time ago. Then a 416play... Each time I was sorry I had not put more money down. Their software is just fantastic.

    So last year I went all the way and got the DS918+.

    It services my Windows/Mac home very well.

    I use Moments for Photos. Docker for running my daughter's Minecraft server. I even have a Windows 10 VM running on it for energies. I do specced it with 8GB RAM and 2x 128SSD for deddicated Read and Write caches. Running Raid 5.

    Mostly I use Plex for all my Music, Movies, and series.

    Also, instead of using Synology Drive cloud drive directly, I prefer using Expandrive client via a WebDav mount. That's until Synology implements a better streaming cloud drive.
