  • Blender update adds support for Metal GPU rendering on Mac

Here are two predictions based on this news:
    1. Blender will render at around 1/10th the speed on the top end Mac Studio compared to a top end GPU.
    2. Apple fans will blame Blender's developers because they don't know how to use Metal correctly.
You simply go into preferences and turn it on.
    Even you could do that...

I'm also hoping that the larger iMac is not limited to a pricy “pro” version.  I don’t mind the nomenclature, but I want this form factor with a solid edge over M1 24” and under $3k. I suspect there are many with me…
I predict an iMac Pro configuration at $2999 with 32GB ram and 1 TB storage, based on Apple’s 14” MacBook Pro minimum configuration. The prices will escalate from there! :)

Likewise, I just want a ‘normal’ 27” iMac!

  • Apple Watch 'Schooltime' mode, new geographic complications discovered in iOS 13 beta

In addition, the iOS 13 beta includes assets pointing to new watch face complications denoting as user's altitude, latitude and longitude, information likely derived from Apple Watch's onboard GPS and barometer. A complication for
rumored sleep tracking capabilities, or perhaps a dedicated watch face, could also see integration, according to MacRumors.
The barometer will not be used for altitude. It is far less accurate than GPS.   GPS can determine one’s location in three dimensions, not just two.
Not true... The baro is much more accurate than GPS height. GPS is very accurate for lateral position, much less so in vertical position.
