  • Morgan Stanley dubs Apple Vision Pro a 'free call option on spatial computing'

Those who don't own one, can make their own conclusions, but I own one and can say, for certain things it is a game changer.  How those things progress we will see.

Watching videos, movies, streaming (for things covered) it is fantastic.  Better than any TV I have ever owned.  For immersive and 3D it is amazing.

For games, we will see.  I am not a gamer BUT have played some VR on a Meta and don't see, with this technology Apple approaching that experience but it is early.

As a spatial computer, until Apple gets this typing nonsense down, no way.  It took me 10 minutes to get a password into Disney.  This is a nightmare. If you need to use a physical keyboard this is a non-starter.  This needs a complete revamping as this sucks.

Scrolling, setting up windows and the whole experience is pretty good.

So, while early on, there are some big hits, there are some serious flaws especially in the computing aspect of the device, particularly the virtual keyboard that needs some major changes.

  • Apple unveils iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max with always-on display

First 2 year refresh (for me) I won’t be upgrading. Nothing there. I was hoping for better AirPod Pros but even those were underwhelming. However I need a new pair and will be buying. Even the old Pros were the best so incremental upgrade is ok. I can’t imagine these products are going to give them a super cycle refresh buying frenzy. We will see

Well, that was a great show! Don't need an upgrade just yet, but it's good to see what's going to be available. The most interesting iPhone features to me were the Satellite SOS and Crash Decection. Seems like the camera has become the main focus of present and future upgrades. Not quite ready to ditch the DSLR and all those expensive lenses yet, though. Sure would like to see camera makers like Sony, Nikon and Canon with the ability to upload photos directly to my iCloud account!
Well to the contrary, the biggest introduction TODAY had nothing to do with Apple and everything to do with Hasselblad. Amazing and gorgeous new 100 megapixel MF camera, with 3 new fast leaf shutter lenses. With prices increasing as they are, the iPhone may soon surpass the Hassy

I can't get over what a monster this thing is.  Apple's "pro" machines have always been more marketed to prosumers/power users rather than true workstation users.  This machine changes everything.

I'm not up on PC workstation class machines, so a question for someone who is:  Is there anything even close to this?
There are many on the PC side of things, the difference is theirs are and have been delivering for a long time. They use different video cards and accelerators, mainly from Nvidia but accomplish the task in a similar manner. Just my opinion, but Apple has to deliver quicker to the Pro segment of their consumer base from time of announcement. Also, 6 years from their last upgrade doesn't cut it for most of us.  A big reason Apple lost out in the medical industry (during the Scully years) was just because of these reasons.  Apple used to be ubiquitous in the medical industry and now are non-existent.  Too bad because I always loved using Apple.
