former Apple Genius here. this is NUTS. nobody in their right mind is going to do this when there are easier, less-expensive routes. I don’t believe Apple has gone out of their way to complicate DIY repairs, it’s just a complex process because the devices themselves are complex, a fact all the self-repair advocates conveniently overlook.

this terrible but well-intended idea should be buried under a mile of cement.  

so ridiculous. just a cursory review of Intel and TSMC’s recent attempts to run chip American fabrication, not to mention Trump’s stated desire to “get rid of” the CHIPS Act which was supposed to supercharge the American semiconductor segment, shows how completely insane this administration’s approach is.

given the harm she caused to the intended recipients, her sentence seems a slap on the wrist.

I worked as a Genius for Apple Retail almost 15 years ago. So sad that the complaints we had then are the same complaints as now. 

so it doesn’t sound like “… he made an investment in Apple without any advice.” sounds like the guy who built his house advised him to. 

anyone been able to actually order one yet? after making all the selections (standard 9 model...nothing fancy or crazy), there's no option to purchase it as it's not available in-stores and not available for delivery.
