What you describe is verbatim what has been happening to me. The only difference is I'm running the 5700 and not the 5700XT everyone else seems to be having issues with. Apple Support had me run through all the usual steps to fix it but no resolution. I'm really questioning if this is a driver issue or faulty hardware/design.
