Premiere Pro gets a big upgrade with Adobe Sensei-powered Text-Based Editing
Interesting that this was posted today, as the Automatic Tone Matching feature in Premiere apparently rolled out in February, but I just found out about it via this article! Clearly it works very well, because I didn't even notice. Sure enough, now that I'm testing it, I can easily mix HDR and non-HDR footage without any extra work now. That's a big help! -

Trump's chip tariff threat takes aim at Apple's TSMC partnership
I despise Trump, but I also hate government handouts to massive companies. If this results in more manufacturing in the US, cool. If it results in higher prices for consumers in the US, oh fucking well. There are more important things than keeping the price of electronics low, and we should focus on those. (mass deportations, removing funding for scientific research, eroding away of checks and balances...) -
Apple's Lisa Jackson says environmental regulation is essential
Yeah, just like Sam Altman wants AI regulation. Regulatory capture. Apple would almost definitely get a seat on whatever commission of industry leaders contribute to these regulations and could influence them in their favor. That being said, Apple's sustainability initiatives are admirable... but just looking at how they respond to pro-consumer regulations by the EU (namely: "No, you can't make us use USB-C!"... 2 years later: "Check out the all-new AirPods Max! What's new? USB-C!")... it makes a lot of sense to cozy up to the idea of regulations that they would actually have a hand in writing. -
Apple calls 128GB 'lots of storage' in new iPhone 15 ad
I mean, yeah. I have over 11,000 photos on my 128GB phone (low-res copies, of course)... I'd say that's more than lots. HEIC is a super efficient photo format. Videos, though? I do still take care to delete all but the best couple videos the day after a show or after a vacation. It saves space, but also prevents clutter. It's harder to find the good stuff later if you just keep everything.
