Apple's easy defence: the stock price history.

It was on a pretty steady upward trend until the end of 2024. The big fall was after Trump announced his tariffs.
Not exactly true ... look at 2020, where AAPL took a beating together with the rest of the industry ... only to make a gigantic recovery by the end of the year. So the question is, can we find a cure for tRumpism as fast as we did for Corona or is it a terminal sickness this time!?

  • Apple revenue could actually benefit from China tariff war

Of course companies will benefit. Prices will rise and US buyers will learn to accept this. Don't forget that over 67% voted for tarrifs in the 2024 elections (Yes I always assume non-voters agree with the winner, otherwise they would have voted differently)
No matter if the tariffs disappear again or not, high prices will remain.

  • Google mocks Apple's AI delays while standing in a graveyard of late and abandoned product...

Well since I no longer buy American products, I wouldn't go for Google either.

  • BMW confirms it will not support CarPlay Ultra

BMW is currently busy with it's all new 'Neue Klasse' concept, whose first models are already driving around here (I live close to their internal test track and see those things regularly driving around). This not only includes an all new outside design but also an all new (and obviously all digital) new cockpit, that's supposed to be a fundamental rethink of what they are doing (so far their newer cockpits are more an more looking like those ugly swasticar cockpits with lack of taste and buttons).

So I guess BMW doesn't really bother that much with Carplay Ultra (especially since the iPhones in Germany are a very niche product). They want to present their shiny new stuff to the world and nothing else.

I guess - at least for the next couple of years - Carplay Ultra will not be any concern to BMW (until they rolled out their 'Neue Klasse' stuff across all cars). Unless their new BMW OS turns out as absymal as what VW has done with their electrical series redesign (wich is so bad that they now dumped thier in house Cariad prgramming group and spend millions investing in Rivian in order to get some help with SW Development).

  • Apple staring down $2 billion in total tariff costs in total before end of September

Time to increase prices in the US. It's completely inacceptable that stock holders should swallow that tax.

  • Apple's Q3 2025 cash dividend is up in spite of growing tariff concerns

Quite frankly. $0.26 is well under what Apple should be paying. They buy much more stock back than they pay in dividends.
They “could” pay much more than $0.26 quarterly.  Why should they do so?  I prefer the buybacks.  That doesn’t create a taxable event for me.  I think they pay a 1% fee to buy back versus a 15-20% qualified divided tax rate for most folks.  How is that better?
I totally dislike buybacks. There is zero evidence it causes the stock to rise and it takes all of that money and burns it. What could the company do with all that money? Marketing, R&D, maybe even a factory. Give employees better benefits so they wouldn’t feel they have to unionize.  Apple has bought somewhere in the range of $780 billion shares over the years. A total waste of money. There is no reason they should be paying a 0.5% dividend. Not with all that profit. They also said they have $108 billion in debt and issued more. This is all to finance buybacks. That’s good in your eyes?
Well the dirty truth is worse ... Apple is actually going in debt to pay for dividents and stock buybacks. In the end Apple will be hollowed out financially and since no next great things seems to be happening, since people no longer want to buy American, since Chinese manufacturers have picked up on the technology front, tough times are ahead. The trick is do dump AAPL before it falls to pieces.

  • New Apple-funded program teaches manufacturing to US firms

So Apple sends some of it's experts in manufacturing (probably all Chinese nationals) on how to screw in a screw ... and then to do that for 12-16 hours 6-7 days per week for about $1000 per month. Sounds about right.

  • 'Breaking Bad' creator's new show on Apple TV+ is 'Pluribus'

Breaking Bad was excellent ... Better call Saul had a few good episodes ... if that trend continues Plur1bus will be nothing but a giant wast of money.

  • App Store changes look like a free ride to some developers

What happens next!? Apple will charge for the developer API and tools (XCode) again and probably lot's of it in a monthly subscription model. Beginners can use Apple Playgrounds. Greedy Tim can't think in any other way.
