Johny Srouji says the Apple Silicon strategy challenged Apple
every time some shift like this happens, I go back and reread stories about NeXT and Jobs' wilderness years away from Apple. It's astonishing that he and the NeXT team followed the technology and seemingly lost every battle until he (and they) ultimately won the war. Learning to port NeXTSTEP OS to other chip architectures in the early 90s is still paying dividends today on a scale they couldn't have possibly imagined when they were just trying to survive. shocking success story, really. -

Apple facing new $5.5 billion App Store antitrust lawsuit in the Netherlands
JohnDinEU said:I’m old school Apple and I’m Dutch. I remember Steve being pissed at Microsoft (re it’s market dominance) and we were able to download software from wherever we wanted. There were risks but so is driving a bicycle. I believe that customers should be free to choose from wherever you they want to to buy (paid or free). Apple changed their business model (or adjusted it as it saw fit) and me as a consumer had to adjust with. I sincerely hope Apple will be forced to open up and allow companies to offer downloads for free or paid (outside of the App Store directly onto your phone) and or allow companies to sell directly their software outside of the App Store. -

Apple Fellow Phil Schiller quits Twitter

I like Phil, but this little passive aggressive move is so lame.I get that Apple execs (many of whom drive Teslas and hope to compete with a car of their own) dislike Musk for competitive reasons - and that he is a bit more of a Steve Jobs than Cook is, but this is just childish. Twitter finally has good leadership and is the same media outlet they knew and loved. Just use it like you do everything else.I can just see these guys sweating through their withdrawals over a few days before deactivating and some moving to inferior services just because. Hilarious. -

Driver that plowed through Hingham Apple Store indicted for murder
DAalseth said:plymouthpatsfan said:sad to see this, but I never felt that it was accidental. justice for the victims.
And no there will be no justice in this case. The people hit are still harmed. He will be punished for a stupid accident, not deliberate assault (and what will his spending ten years or so in jail going to do for the victims). Everyones lives will be ruined. Nobody will win. -
