There is an error in this article. It seems that for the m4 pro gpu graph the editors picked out the opencl test report from Geekbench instead of the metal test.
in metal the m4 pro gpu scores around 113865

So far the highest score of M4 Max on metal test is 192532 so it’s very close to the gpu performance of M2 Ultra with 60 gpu cores which is wild!

A win is still a win, the game is still THE windows benchmark of the latest GPU’s. It’s still proof that devs are picking up the skill set (even if it’s a port)  to develop for arm and the metal framework. So maybe with it we get game launches in the future that are in line with other platforms

Is it just me or does the M4 Max feels like a less improvement. Maybe it's because M4 Pro took such a leap I was expecting M4 max to become a 16 and 18 CPU with maybe 32 and 42 GPU cores but it remains the same on core counts as M3 Max......I think I got my hopes up a bit too much

My god…..I was thinking when I purchased my M1 Max 16 inch I would be fine for 4-5 years but this might consider me upgrading this year….also because I noticed the GPU is hitting the limit sometimes but also that with my new function I need more headroom for bigger projects with the CPU. I do wonder how the thermals will be. M3 max is a powerhouse but pushed even the 16 inch starts to become loud. But since a18 pro and M4 have proven they run cooler and energy efficient, I will wait for the reviews coming out

I was already confused since it's thunderbolt 4 and it's known that thunderbolt 4 supports 4k 120hz or 8k 60hz due to the bandwidth limitations. I believe for 8k 120hz you need a bandwidth of 60gb/s hence why thunderbolt 5 is needed.

I don’t think they will. Look at Blizzard which is now in hands of Microsoft. All new releases except for World of Warcraft are pc only…..I think only if the EU or FTC would intervene the  gaming monopoly position of Pc they might be forced to but unless that happens, I wouldn’t count on it
