'Scary Fast' iMac with M3 is here with few external changes
It was “fast” but only the speeds were pleasing. If you are not in the market for a MacBook Pro, then this is of limited interest.NO replacement for a 27” iMac? Come on Apple ‘what were you thinking?’ This isn’t going to scare any competitors. A 30” iMac with a choice of M3 processors and especially the M3 Max with 64Gb of unified memory might have done the trick! -
25 years of Apple's innovation with the iTunes Music Store
The iTunes part of Music is actually a mess. Not a complete mess just a bit all over the shop like a second hand book store which has expanded too rapidly. It is not the content which is the problem it is the organisation. The original logical menu design has been ignored. Now buttons sometimes appear and you will need to go through a precise set of bonkers steps to complete something like burning a playlist to a cd should you wish too. You never quite know if this is actually possible depending on the disk. The hint is the absence of a price. But even then it is not at all easy. It needs to move to a newer building with clearly defined sections purpose built.Classical music sort of has its own section but is a very tricky thing to organise anyway. You have to appreciate the range of versions on the shelves but it is also in need of a proper ‘shipping’ department. Apart from EarPods Pro what is the process for listening? Can you get the music to your hifi without three different remote controls in the correct sequence? Don’t be silly! Of course not. And the sound is good but something has happened to the dimensionality and definition of the stereo imaging along the way. Review the disc, find it on CD and buy the disc on-line from Amazon. It has enormous potential but it is a long way from being fully thought through.
