  • How to add sensors to Apple Watch and iPhone for an improved cycling experience

You wrote, "The iPhone itself couldn't be used as a true bike computer. "

Why?  I ride some 60 miles a week - gravel and road. And the only downside I've seen from using my phone as a ride computer is battery life. I don't worry much about weight since I'm only riding for fun and fitness - so I carry a battery when I go on rides over 30 miles.

Otherwise, the combination of my iPhone, iWatch, Peak Design phone mount, and Bluetooth helmet work great together. I can add sensors and it tracks all the metrics a dedicated computer tracks - with the same accuracy. And I can hear and see directions, listen to books and music, communicate easily with other riders or even make calls during rides.

    What am I missing?
