  • Why iPhone mirroring and Mac Live Activities aren't coming to the EU

Why do articles like this keep pretending “the ability to place calls from their Macs using their nearby iPhones” is a new feature? We all had it for probably a decade now. You only had to do it through the FaceTime app, invoked from there or in Contacts. The same way we've been answering or placing mobile calls on iPads through a nearby iPhone.

  • macOS Sequoia 15.4 arrives with Apple Mail categories, password timers, and more

“Apple Intelligence comes to Europe” is only true on Mac in the sense that there's support for a wider variety of languages. European macOS users, unlike on iOS or iPadOS, were always free to use the meager Apple Intelligence features, so long as they were happy with English. macOS is not considered a gatekeeper platform by the EU, and the DMA rules do not apply to it. Yay for lack of popularity!
On the other hand, iPhone Mirroring continues to be officially forbidden for EU Mac users, I guess because it also involves iOS/iPhones.
