    Silicon valley needs Stanford and Berkeley; New England needs Harvard and MIT. Can Arizona state support a chip industry? i don't think so. Building chips is incredibly hard, think Manhattan project. Taiwan and Korean nerds toil two decades to get into tsmc and Samsung. Will your kids do the same? Don't hold your breath. USA won't have a chip industry until engineering is as prestigious as medicine/lawyer/MBA. The boat has sailed.
