  • iPhone Fold rumors and renders: What to expect after years of leaks and speculation

Who wants a phone as big as the current phone but is almost once centimeter thick? Not to mention good luck making protective cases for this thing so it’s guaranteed to get destroyed if you drop it.
Now even assuming they solve the crease problem and provide a good enough hinge (and I doubt they would ship anything with a visible crease or a bad hinge, they’re not Samsung who’s perfectly fine shipping garbage) we’re left with a phone that may have mediocre battery life, unremarkable cameras, is way too thick but most of all an unfolded screen form factor that serves no purpose. Is it good for watching movis? No! It doesn’t buy you more screen size to watch a widescreen movie than you would get by using your regular phone in landscape mode; one thing it does is get you a second screen to text while you watch — or help in general with multitasking.
I’m not seeing the value here, especially considering the astronomical price and the folded size which is way too thick.

Then again I really don’t understand the attraction of these phones. As much as the Galaxy Flip or the Razr Ultra make sense to me (for people who want a much smaller phone to fit in tiny pockets) the Galazy Z Fold and other full size phones completely fail by delivering an unfolded square screen form factor that offers no benefit. Worse, the tradeoffs are unacceptable thickness and astronomical price.

I keep reading more and more of these rumors but I’m not sure I believe they have much substance. Apple shipping a 95mm thick phone sounds beyond absurd. Future will tell…

  • Apple Stores suffering from 'cult' atmosphere, advancement barriers, says UK staffer

The problem is that Apple Stores use and require highly skilled people for their stores, yet consider it's fine to pay them like unskilled retail labor. No other brand would be able to pull this off; they can do it because so many people adore them, and they take advantage of it. Not very nice.
  • iPhone 17 may have been spotted in the wild

Whatever. AppleInsider is totally behaving like massive douchebags here. At least blur the guy’s face. This is really lame.

  • Pokemon Go could add $3B to Apple revenues, analyst says

And thaiis how you make money on human lame bahaviors. Just a general question: What does this game develop or teach a person? Any values? Just wondering. Sounds almost like screen licking application or who makes more interesting shape of poop.
Well it does get kids exercising. Example: According to my son an unhatched Pokemon requires at least a 5km walk  from him before it will break free of its shell. Even outside of that I sure do see a lot of players doing a lot of walking to Pokestops to collect gear.
As long as they don't walk off a cliff or into oncoming traffic... But holy shit is this game dumb. Absolutely incredible how they manage to generate so much money off of something so insanely vapid.

Please tell me what fronts Apple are falling behind on?
    - Camera. The iPhone 7+ is barely catching up.
    - Battery life. The iPhone 7 came dead last (by far) in tests performed by the UK magazine Which!
    - Compatibility: the Lightning connector was great when the iPhone 5 came out, but now using USB Type C would make a lot more sense.

Don't get me wrong, I would never trade my iPhone for an Android phone. I find Android terribly unpleasant and cumbersome to use, and I don't trust it to protect my data. Still, I wish Apple put less focus on thinness and more on battery life. And if Samsung can procure a better, more sensitive camera, why can't they. The iPhone should have the best of everything.
