Apple's study proves that LLM-based AI models are flawed because they cannot reason
For those that want more information about Apple's Machine Learning Research (including LLM's)

Apple's mystery internal network adapter probably isn't for public use
I suspect this is a Digital Private Network device (DPN). Similar to some of these...

This is essentially a hardware VPN using blockchain technology that closes the security holes in traditional VPN/ISP/Router setups. This tech is in its infancy....
It most likely will be used internally by Apple (retail as well as within the company) and not available to the public. But if it works as advertised it could be a product down the road that would provide very high security when accessing the internet. -
Sketchy rumor suggests Apple Watch will be able to sync with Mac & iPad
There are a lot of folks that have a Mac or iPad and no iPhone (they prefer Android phones). This is an untapped market for Apple's Watch, which is a gateway to Apple fitness, etc.. So this makes sense to me.
I doubt there would be separate apps for each device, rather this would be built into Settings.

GM ditching CarPlay & Android Auto for Google-built infotainment system
I and my family have owned Toyota vehicles for decades (still drive a 2011 Prius and 2002 Tacoma PU), but I'll never purchase another one because of their long standing obstinance to include Apole CarPlay (they now offer it in most models). This is a huge mistake for GM - but then again I have never purchased a GM car or truck. I have a Tesla Cybertruck slot (expect delivery in early 2024) - but if Elon doesn't get on board with CarPlay I'll probably opt out. -
Apple is pushing hard to make the Mac relevant in gaming
Apple tends to play the long game. The comments so far all compare where Apple gaming is now to the past. Apple is focused on the future and that is VisionPro. Everything that Apple has been doing in terms of hardware is in support of VisionPro and its game changing opportunities not just as a computer device, but rather for the next gen device for work, productivity, entertainment, and yes - gaming. For my use case the opportunity to expand my three-dimensional geologic models will be extraordinary. Enough so that I intend to upgrade my entire system to M3 Studio and VisionPro in 2024.
Gaming is a huge market, one that I don't truly appreciate, but those in this industry that do not see this Apple transformation will miss a huge opportunity.

Decade-old Apple Car project may be completely dead
I never did think that Apple would ever build "a car". Rather they used the program to explore opportunities to bring the Apple ecosystem into vehicles much as they have with HomeKit in the home. CarPlay works very well (but could work much better) in nearly all of my vehicles and I expect Apple to continue "pulling on that string" as Tim says... -

iOS 18 Mail app will get huge AI enhancements & summarizations with 'Project Blackpearl'
I agree with others - NONE OF THIS IS OF ANY VALUE until Siri actually captures and works with my voice, which it does not do now. There needs to be some sort of training method to get Siri at six sigma recognition before any of this AI stuff will provide any meaningful value to users.
Today simple transcription is barely at 60% accurate for me. I have to scream at my HomePod in the morning to get it to play the Economist Intelligence podcast, even though I ask Siri to do this every single day right after I say "Hey Sire, what is my update?"
As I noted in the WSJ, during Apple's last earnings report the live screen transcription was a mess mis-stating what Tim had just stated. Embarrassing to say the least. -
