  • Why Apple Vision Pro could evolve similarly to the Apple Watch

I disagree that the price is too high.   The tech needed to achieve the high resolution is state of the art and pricing will come down with volume.   As I've detailed on this forum before the current price is about what I had paid for my first Apple II in 1978 - inflation adjusted.

As a first day VP user the primary use today is as a media device (as described in the article).   The two things Apple needs to do NOW are to include AppleTV app and provide for more access of file (I/O).  The only way now is via Files (iCould) and airdrop (which I have found to be inconsistent).  The developers dongle is only USB2 (speed constrained) - WTF?

The number and quality of new apps gets better every day, there is a first generation version of Google Maps (Spatial Earth) for example.

This is a game changing device that will be the future of computing.   Everyone who tries one can see and they get this.   Apple needs to move quickly to provide high quality content (IMAX and AppleTV app) while it provides more I/O options for development programing.

As for a comparison to the Apple Watch - they are the only two "new" device platforms that Apple has created over the last 15 years.

  • iVANKY FusionDock Max 1 review: Twice the Thunderbolt bandwidth, twice the price

Normally I find AI reviews spot on but not this time.   For those who have a MBP Max this is a 5 - it ticks all of the boxes for that configuration.   And MAX is right in the name of the product FusionDock MAX 1.  There is no other product on the market that does what this does for that configuration.

But I agree for other configurations the price is too high.

I'm upgrading this year to all M3 Max (and probably an Ultra studio when that gets announced) computers so I already have dock on my purchase list.

  • How to refurbish a fifth-generation Time Capsule

Excellent article - thanks.  I knew there was a reason I kept a couple of those around even after the hard drives failed.  This will be a fun weekend project.    I'll probably use an updated TimeCapsule to backup an older MBP that I still use.

As for the other poster - Time Machine still provides exceptional backup for multiple computers (iMac, MBPs)  even though they run a mix of MacOS.    I've never had a catastrophic failure of Time Machine - but I have had hard drives fail, which is why I do a rotation on those (including off site for maximum safety/security).   I'm currently using a 18Tb WD as my primary backup hard drive.

  • Decade-old Apple Car project may be completely dead

I  never did think that Apple would ever build "a car".  Rather they used the program to explore opportunities to bring the Apple ecosystem into vehicles much as they have with HomeKit in the home.   CarPlay works very well (but could work much better) in nearly all of my vehicles and I expect Apple to continue "pulling on that string" as Tim says...

  • Apple TV+ 'Foundation' leadership rocked after budget drama

Foundation is one of my favorite shows.  I think the show runners were hoping for 8 or 9 seasons to finish out the story arc.   It would be disappointing to not see this completed.   It really is an amazing story and Apple (and the show) have done a great job in crafting it for AppleTV+
