  • ChatGPT for Mac app logged queries in an unencrypted file before getting caught

"We are aware of this issue and have shipped a new version of the application which encrypts these conversations," OpenAI spokesperson Taya Christianson says in a statement to The Verge. "We're committed to providing a helpful user experience while maintaining our high security standards as our technology evolves."

This is such a pure BS response from them.  "As technology evolves"?  Bullsh!t.  Some jackass over there made the conscious decision to do this, or out of sheer coding laziness.  There ought to be more consequence than just a typical "lol... sorry, my bad" on ChatGPT's part.  How's about banning them from MacOS for a year?  Something?

  • Developer angry that App Store is removing game that hasn't been updated in 7 years

Developers like them give us all a bad rap.  When I'm looking for an app, if I see it hasn't been touched for seven years, I dismiss it right then and there.  This developer is just being lazy and would rather kick-and-scream and claim a faux-outrage than recompile their app.  I'm just so sick of these developers that have some elite belief that they have the standing to tell Apple what to do with Apple's hardware and software.  Screw them.

Recompile your app, make the necessary changes to compile, and get up and current will all the security updates that the new OS provides.  It's downright silly to hear these whiners as of late.  You're more than welcome to go to Android if you feel the CLOSED Apple ecosystem is being to harsh on you.

Apple's devotion is to USERS, not developers.  Grow up.

  • Prepare for a scam gold rush with the App Store changes

I still remember the countless news stories about some rogue malicious malware spreading in iPhones.  It was all over the news.  “Apple iPhone” hacked.

Turns out all those intrusions were on jailbroken phones from apps outside the App Store.

    its about to get worse.

Waiting for the usual tech-nerds to start complaining next week on what's taking Apple so long to implement HDMI2.2 after being available for "the last few years".

    *crunching popcorn*
Or complaining that can’t watch native 16K full resolution on their iPhone.
and at 360hz cuz "Android's been doing it for years"...

  • Users demand a big discount to pay for subscriptions out of the App Store

There is no way in hell where I would use a 3rd-party system that will have my credit card# on file.  I trust Apple in keeping my info private.  That Epic Games is also Chinese-owned makes my decision even more correct.

  • A19 chip could match Qualcomm's best, but Apple may lean toward power savings instead

This reminds me of the tests between MacBooks and Windows laptops.  The windows laptops are almost (or slightly faster) than MacBooks, but chokes completely when on battery only.

Performance means nothing on a mobile phone if it means destroying the unit's battery life.

  • iCloud lawsuit fails over misunderstanding of storage tiers

This was nothing more than a fishing-expedition for some pond-scum lawyer looking for a quick-buck.  Had the "victim" won, the next step would be an immediate cash-grab by the lawyer and file a class-action lawsuit where the big money is.

It's crap like this is why we have volume-sized TOS agreements and warning-stickers on plastic bags.

  • Senator Warren asks if Apple CEO Tim Cook's Trump playbook is blatant corruption

The level of stupidity among all positions of government is pathetic.

Tim Cook has also worked with the Biden administration too.  Why didn't she scream "corruption" back then too?

  • Apple working on M6 & M7 chips alongside new AI server processor

No need for a MacBook Pro redesign. It’s pretty much perfect in its most recent form.

Hopefully m5 cranks things up. But the real story with be with m6.
I hear the M10 chip is gonna have entangled qbits.  That’s worth waiting for. /s

  • It's official -- 'Ted Lasso' is getting a fourth season

"As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to look before we leap,'" executive producer and star Sudeikis said in the release, "in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it's exactly where they're meant to be."

What a bizarre message.  I predict this will continue the final season trajectory of the show to the absolute pits.
I got about 2 episodes into S3 and quit. Season 2 was already nowhere near season one - having the 50-something team owner sleeping with an early 20's player was a true WTF plot concept, and had it been man/woman instead of woman/man, that would have been quite differently handled - and 3 was just unwatchable.

    OTOH, Slow Horses is excellent.
I stopped watching at the end of Season 2.  It was a mess and felt like they were just trying to ride off the popularity of season 1.  Have zero desire to watch season three and four.
