  • Inside Apple's Ireland testing labs - How your iPhone survives sandstorms, saunas & salt w...

I know there are always a ton of device stress videos like bending, scratching, drop tests, submerging, etc. on YouTube immediately after a new phone is released and they're popular. This article is so interesting because it shows how much design really relies on the QA and feedback processes.

  • Tariffs and analysts: What to expect from Apple's Q3 2025 earnings

The two tech poster children for tech-related tariffs are Apple and Nvidia. It's maddening when the pain is self-induced. The administration has made a radical departure from previous tactic of limiting sales for Nvidia and I hope that they see the light on Apple as well.

America does better when it can trade with the rest of the world. It's weird when the party that claims to be champions of market forces prove that they very much are not. There are many uncertainties on the horizon for Apple but having your own country fighting against you is really a dumb situation.

  • Analysts contradict Apple's assessment of Q2, suggests pull-forward in demand helped

Tariffs were announced on April the 2nd and this was after the Q2 ended. What are those analysts smoking?
Exactly. I get that they're speculating and they think buyers are speculating (about tariffs) and people who buy stock are speculating. It's all storytelling for analysts. They are paid to share their opinion but it's like movies that are critically panned but are blockbusters when they reach the studio.

Just to be clear, I'm not down on analysts at all. They have teams of people tracking the companies that they report on. They have a lot of info, certainly more than I do. It's just that they are watching certain things, have certain timelines in mind, and worst of all, requirements to make have an opinion and make predictions. It's a hard game and it's easy to judge anyone's opinions but sometimes their stories don't reflect real world outcomes.

Driverless electric cars are not happening for at least 10+ years. If ever.. Just to many variables to be anything more than a gimmick right now.
What's your criteria for deciding that they're actually happening? If you mean available for general purchase your comment is accurate but otherwise they're already here. Mountain View
