  • Siri on Ecobee SmartThermostat review: Apple's smart assistant invades your home

Admittedly it works extremely well with HomeKit  BUT I would argue that it’s only a 4 star device due to it’s ugly design and it’s touch screen slider controls that are incredibly hard to adjust with finesse.  If only NEST would integrate better with HomeKit and also had the follow me mode….

  • Some Apple HomeKit setups are breaking after iOS 16.2 update

The option to expand the size of the geofence seems to have been removed. Now my floodlights no longer turn on until I’ve pulled completely into the garage. I want my floodlights to illuminate my driveway. How do you expand the geofence now??

  • Compared: New Apple TV 4K versus 2021 Apple TV 4K

Why doesn’t Apple update the firmware for the prior gen ATV 4K to provide HDR10+?

  • Apple lobbies against tax hikes proposed in $3.5T economic package

Well they sure as hell wanted Biden elected. Be careful what you ask for, you might get it!

  • Roku update that broke AirPlay & HomeKit has yet to be fixed weeks later

I use the Channels app with my HDHomeRun tuners.  The Channels app does not exist for Roku.  I also use Plex and it’s a disaster on Roku.  The new AppleTV remote is far and away better than the the old one and I think it is just as good if not better than the Roku remote.  For whatever reason, the Roku seems to eat batteries.  I’ve never had a set of batteries last more than 2-3 months.  I’ll take a Firestick 4K Max over the Roku any day.  The AppleTV is and always will be my first choice.  Never had any problems with having to re-enter passwords once it’s properly setup.  The ability to use my iPhone or iPad as a keyboard when it’s time to enter passwords makes the process fast and easy not to mention that you can also use keychain for the passwords.  I’m not aware of any such ability to use a phone as a keyboard for either Roku or Firestick.

  • Greg Joswiak confirms iPhone's future move to USB-C

Not only was it inevitable because of the EU mandate but Apple was heading that way anyway. Just look at the iPad pro. The only surprise was that Apple didn't make the change for the iPhone 14. It's either a design issue with the smaller form factor (seems unlikely) or an economic factor (eek the last dregs of value from stocks of lightning components before they have to go USB-C anyway). I didn't buy the 13 or 14 as I'm holding out for the USB-C version compatible with my iPad Pro so BRING ON THE 15!!!
More likely the reason for the hold out is the vast number of lightning accessories that people own that will now be obsolete.  Everything is going wireless anyway so the EU is forcing people to throw away more outdated tech in order to satisfy their climate agenda.

  • Apple TV drops 'Up Next' in new design rolling out to users

I wish they would add a Live TV Guide that pulls together a list of what's streaming now from all your subscribed sources like Hulu, Philo etc.  Would be awesome if they could include OTA content for your locals if you have HDHomeRun as well.  This is something that FireTV is already doing.
