Why not? There's no good reason not to use it that way. USB-C ports are bi-directional. The only reason I could think of not to is if it affected the thermal management. They need to roll this out to everyone as soon as possible. It's a safety issue, if you aren't connected to the cabin audio system, you're likely to miss safety announcements. It's not cool when you miss the instructions that tell if you're going to die as the aircraft plunges into the sea.
