  • Apple closing seven Apple Stores in Texas due to COVID-19 spikes

As we emerge from our homes, the uptick in cases is pretty much expected.
What is serious, is "is there a significant uptick in hospitalizations"?

Bear in mind, back in March when this started emerging, we knew it was potentially deadly - but we did not know of a treatment protocol, we did not know who was the most susceptible, we did not know that there were significant number of people who were asymptomatic.  An asymptomatic person does NOT spread the virus like a symptomatic person does - which makes perfect sense, if you think about it.

Who spreads virus's more, a person sneezing, coughing and with a runny nose, or a person who is completely asymptomatic?  There are many people who may have had this, and either thought it was a regular flu, never realized they were sick, or thought it was a bad cold that hung around for weeks.  Panic if you want, but it's part of the environment now, you can't hide from it anymore than you can hide from West Nile, Common Cold, or warts.  You are going to be exposed at some point.

Life is inherently dangerous, you can do many things to mitigate risks, such as not engaging in known risky behavior; but hiding at home for the rest of your life, really isn't living, is it?.
  • Highway toll text scams are on the rise, and Apple can't completely stop them

With Apple Intelligence being “underwhelming”, detecting scams such as this and intercepting them, would be a nice first step

just saying ….  A nice follow up would be collating the sources and reporting them to the proper police authorities.

But that wound e “thinking differently “… and that isn’t done anymore.  I guess it’s racist?

  • Retailer Target pins missed financial goals on lackluster Apple device sales

So, on the HUNDREDS of brands sold at Target - their huge losses are all Apple's fault?

Or could it be that their Tyrannical decision to let any degenerate who wants to "identify" as a woman, into the woman's restroom; is having the exact result that was promised?  People with JOBS, you know, the customers who actually shop there; you know, the 99.998% of Americans' with an actual income who are not trans-sexual and believe that your gender is defined by your plumbing; and is not "all in your head".

We refuse to set food in Target - we go out of our way to shop ANYWHERE else.

Target told us to put up with it, or go elsewhere.  We are going elsewhere; and no matter how much they beg, no matter how much they apologize; they showed us their true colors; and we are showing them ours.  They can go bankrupt, they can go broke - we don't care.  Good riddance to trash.  There are companies that respect my wife's privacy and safety that deserve our business; and that's what they are going to get.

Used to be a company called Colors of Benetton that pulled this sort of crap - where are they now?

  • Apple warns investors it won't announce iPhone 7 opening weekend sales

There is a reason Apple does what Apple does.  Apple doesn't do anything "randomly".

If Apple is not going to release the opening weekend sales ....  Odds are pretty good that there is a really good reason.  I submit that the sales will be dismal and disappointing.

I am hardly the first one to say that the iPhone 7 wasn't the BIG announcement that everyone was hoping for.  It was a let-down for many, and while I like the longer battery life; for me, losing the headphone jack isn't worth the cost.  When I drive, I use my iPhone for navigation, listen to music, and I also charge my phone.  Currently, I can do all this with ease - Apple took this away.

Why?  "Because the Headphone jack is 100 years old".  Sorry, BS.  Buttons are older than that, surprisingly they didn't take off the buttons.  If they said "We wanted waterproof and dustproofing, and the headphone jack made this nearly impossible - that is a reason.  100 years old is just elitist BS.  Perhaps this "marketing company" didn't look at what people are actually using.  Why do I want to get rid of my car, so I can use a $800 phone?  Do I want to upgrade my car stereo and toss my $5 cable so I can use a $1,200+ car stereo that does EXACTLY the same thing?  This is an expensive step backwards, for negligible improvement.  Bluetooth 4.2 specs just do not provide adequate audiophile quality, unless you are purchasing Bluetooth equipment that meets the 4.2 specs on the transmit and receive side - and on the receive side, we are talking the more expensive articles, not the stuff you are going to find at most stores.

I believe that removing the headphone jack will impact the sales of the new iPhone.  I am giving serious thought into sitting out this upgrade cycle and waiting for the next iPhone before giving up my iPhone 6.
