Equally perplexing is it seems to be a foregone conclusion that whales don't appreciate a good swallow. Considering how few are likely to be able to actually do this, I'd think it'd be an in demand skill.

Turns out there will be an Apple "Event" concurrent, but not affiliated with Apple Expo Paris. Broadcast to Apple Europe, but not necessarily the Expo. How odd is that.

Killer feature? It's available in shitbrick brown. Apple's doomed.

I'm going to call silly buggers on Piper Jaffray here. They polled a small number of developers, and presumably small developers since they would mention it if they were big names, and small developers on average are going to be more likely to have …

Looks like Crucial already has FBDIMMs on their site for the new Mac Pros; I didn't see a link yet on RAMSeeker or OWC, but I'm sure others will follow suit shortly. at $160 a GB, $640 is sure a heck of a lot better a price than the $1,100 Apple is …

I agree with Palegolas; I'm not a big fan of "lashing" advertisement. Findof like the SanDisk :iPod sheep" campaign. Apple doesn't win any goodwill this way, they just renew the impression of Apple as the zealot option.

Every once in awhile you hear this or that about where Apple is investing it's money, I've never seen a comprehensive list, though. But then, I've never paid a lot of attention to this individual snippets either, though the Akamai investment and I t…

Won't Bryce output meshes for use in other renderers? If so that'd let you offload to likely a better renderer that was faster because it used multiple cores. A pity what's happened to Bryce really, over the years, but at least it hasn't been comple…

Uh, when did we enter world-as-myth? Have I been reading too much Heinlein? But seriously, good call the the non-MP nature of Cloverton; which I think makes both Cloverton and Kentwood loosing propositions from a performance standpoint, though li…

I really hope we don't see Apple go for Core 2 Quad over two Xeons, though I guess time will tell. If they go with 2 Quad Xeons, then we'll likely see more liquid cooling, which I'm also not bullish on (plus ye gads the cost). If anything I hope …

Yeah, I thought about that too. Although I guess you could have a "game bundle" including video goggles, but really that's just silly talk. It'd be great until you were playing a baseball sim and realized you just accidentally chucked your iPod acro…

I think there's probably enough water to go around for both the gaming and the touch screen. Time will tell.

Agreed, I think the iPod is a great platform to extend into games. If I recall correctly they also have one of those "sudden drop" accelerometers to protect the HD, which would allow for Wii-like input. The success of such a thing is tied to gett…

I believe around the timeframe the Treo was first introduced PocketPC PDAs started getting dedicated video chipsets from ATI or NVidia (can't remember which, might have been both). They weren't all that great and the main functionality they provided…

Yet another odd indicator for buy/hold transitions from the analysts; NVidia seems slightly less diverse, but at least in the next 12-18 months I can't imagine iPod video chips being of significant consequence for either company. Especially Broadcom.
