14" iBook!!! Sweet.

Perfect. Including the pro speakers is awesome - they were always a big "I want it." I think that aside from meeting 1.0 GHz, this has met everyone's expectations. -S

I think the iMac's brought me back down to the ground. I don't think there will be a G5. iMac at 800MHz possibly, and then G4's from 867MHz to 1.2GHz. If we hit 1.4 today I'll consider it well beyond my reasoned expectations. -S

Uh - I think I heard something about a "Power" Mac. Or something like that. Sounds like what you're looking for. -S

[quote]Originally posted by cooop: Don't expect colors, spiffy. Apple is WAY past that. I don't know, cooop. I think the design of the iBook is such that it would still have a serious look if done in rich (not candy) tones. But more importantl…

I think between the iMac and perhaps a small PowerMac update (they'll have to - the iMac will have to surpass the low-end PM to use its Superdrive), and iPhoto, we'll have a good show. Not to mention lots of apps for X to be shown off, I'm sure. …

the revealer must not read many magazines. the date usually indicates the date that the issue will no longer be current (i.e. a new issue will come out). it is not reflective of the print date. also, i agree with the above posts that i think …

Looking at the larger images, it looks like the clear plastics that we see extending off the edges of the screen also go *over* the screen itself (like on a pen tablet, except not touch-sensitive). A good move, I think, for protecting the screen fr…

The thing that has me most conflicted is that it's modern and cool, but I don't think anyone would call it "cute," you know? The old iMac...dunno, looked like something that wanted to be hugged by little kids - it was fun. In fact, I keep picturin…

I think it would be decidedly un-Apple to run a bunch of wires to the machine. I'm thinking wireless input - can't wait to see what they've done about speakers too. -S

What a dildo. (Hm. To my knowledge that's the first time I've ever called anyone a dildo. Certainly it was deserving.) -S

Definitely impressive. Looking forward to being able to post tomorrow! -S

Can somebody explain why this isn't in General Discussion?

Anyone else think 15"-17" is way too big for a tablet like this? I've always said that I think a "thin client tablet," since that's basically what we're talking about, should be a separate product to be placed at a "station" or dock away from your …

Look....I'm sure that nobody from a Microsoft company has any contacts deep enough inside Apple to have the slightest f*cking clue what they're planning to release at MWNY. Anyone who thinks there will be no PowerMac updates is completely nutz cons…

The story IS coming out of MSNBC........

I started a thread on this loooooong ago - its pretty apparent in the topic list. go there. -S

The iMac is still going to be larger than an iBook, despite the flat screen. The additional size lets it run a hotter processor, graphics card (and a more standard graphics card), faster HD and optical drives, etc. - these things are cheaper and fas…

That isn't an iMac, it's a pro machine. I will not buy an iMac that costs more than $1600. $1800 is more than an iBook, for crying out loud. Apple would never go with such a pricing scheme on their most consumer-oriented device. I don't know why…
