I think it's been mentioned in hear already, but I have to second it: Good FTP in Finder! I do a lot of FTP and to be able to get and put like I was copying between any other two Finder windows would make me such a happy person.

Never had reason to complain about it. I think I've only ever run the battery all the way down once. Usually when I am listening to it for an extended period of time (on a train, for instance) I have an external power source if I need it.

I DLed XFactor just to check for you. The folder has those three documents and the application itself. If that's not there, try unzipping it again, if that doesn't work, try downloading it again.

For a good overview on using Macs in general, check out "Getting started with Mac OS X version 10.2" It is, as the title suggests, specific to Jaguar (10.2) but the basics are the same as 10.3. It should still be a great help.
