  • Have you looked at the text smoothing preferences? Maybe playing around with that will make things easier to read.

  • Actually Ireland, if you bothered to read my post properly, you would see that I base it partly on two rumour sites. So there is nothing 'convenient' about my post. I openly admit I was partly influenced by Think Secret and others. No need to be a s…
  • I'm sticking my weight behind 7th August. It is a Tuesday, it is far enough away for Apple to have time to send out invites and organise a bash, and two separate rumour sites are pointing to that date.
  • Mew - Frengers. An amazing album that I have listened to since it came out in 2003. Most albums fade to the back of the collection after a few months, and only get listened to occasionally, but I listen to Frengers all of the time. I believe it …
  • Looking at the title of this article, it looks like the Germans are also craving an iPod price drop and lightning strikes?!

  • Fear not, Apple's upgrade processes tend to be safe and easy. Sure, it is always recommended to backup just in case, but you should find that all of your documents and own applications will be left intact. Of course, since I don't have Leopard, I co…

  • Woo. QuickTime Pro makes sense again - the Pro licence lets you make files, the normal version gives you all of the playback features. Why did it take them so long to sort this back to the way it was before?!
  • Well yes, except that previous iMacs have been announced in Paris, and updates also now come special events - think how many of those there have been in recent years, including for the redesigned iMac with iSight. The days of just WWDC and MWSF are …

  • Sounds good, hopefully it will be bluetooth by default, saving me from having to pay extra to upgrade. New iMac, new keyboard, new Leopard and new iLife (although that is less exciting since I plan on moving to Aperture). Bring it on!
  • The wsidecar URL has been used for ages. It is just used for the download servers at apple, and nothing at all to do with bootcamp specifically - it seems to be used in redirection to downloadable files, and has been for donkeys.
  • Thanks for confirming what I thought. I have a small app that update iCal's icon, so I need to force the dock to refresh it. I'll just need to go with killing the Dock process, and put up with the Dashboard restarting.
  • A couple more little annoyances I have found; 1) Why in Safari, if a link opens a PDF in the same window, does the 'Go Back' keyboard shortcut not work? You need to actually click on the back button. (I believe this same problem also exists in Fire…
  • dwright86 - How about adding spotlight to the open/save dialog? That would be pretty nifty, and solve the problem surely? Ah well, we can only dream...
  • I think someone is a little confused. Why did this old topic get drag back from the dead?!
