thanks for the replies. i guess the eMac and its 800Mhz of horsepower just took a while getting the airports dhcp stuff. i left it on for a couple hours and it worked itself out.

i have a canopus one and it works fine with both imovie and final cut.

handbrake is god's give to ipod. make sure your using the right h.264 compression and the baseline profile, then 320x240. perfect rips.
