Okay, a thank you to all for you help. I don't know what did it, but it has fixed itself and is back to working normally. I can schedule shut down and sleep again. yeah! I even fixed the iChat update problem. All without crashing the computer. …

Okay, quick update. Ran disk repair and repair permissions from install CD, didn't fix the problem. Currently running through the forms linked, including other links to see if I can find something that works. Still very frustrating, such a simple…

Thank you for more ideas. I will try them sometimes soon. I can't get to an apple store easily, nearest is 5 hours away. But I will try other ideas and report back. Thanks.

Can you reinstall just preferences part of osx? That would be cool to not have to reinstall everything and then reupdate everything, I'm onto 10.3.4 now.

Okay, so tossed powermangement and autowake pref's, didn't work. I checked sharing prefs, it's off. Disk first aid, do you mean starting up from the CD and running first aid? Because I can't run it from the computer. I assume that's what you mea…

Okay, so resetting PMU did not work , neither did zapping PRAM, repairing disk permissions(twice), trying under a different account(still have to input administors name when chaning system prefs under separate account), or deleting the 'system prefe…

Okay, so resetting PMU did not work , neither did zapping PRAM, repairing disk permissions, trying under a different account, or deleting the 'system preferences' under my home library folder to where it creates itself a new one. Out of ideas!

It's a 17" 1.3 edition powerbook. And it won't sleep only through the schedule option of the energy saver preference. Otherwise, all is fine other than the stupid iChat thing.

I have posted this in response before. But when doing regular typing/writing, it's nice to put two pages next to each other side by side. Also, if you are ever stuck somewhere and want to watch a movie, that 17" is nice. Better than renting a stu…

Talking about Konfabulator, should have been more precise. As for screen, I thought maybe lower brightness means less work for computer. It sounds really stupid as I type it now. Although I know at lowest setting I have seen an affect when the sc…

Reading all these posts. I agree, woman deserve total respect. But here's where I get confused. Why do women not like the 'nice guys'. All these qualities listed, honesty, trust, respect, etc. Bad boys don't usuallly offer this, yet nice guys g…

And pay attention to the hardware requirements. IMG previewed it and the guy said it ran slow on a 1.25 powerbook. I soooooo want to buy this, remember what a blast the first one on my original iMac was. (Thinking about keeping that computer just…

I've been trying to figure out how to carry my 17" pb around too. I came accross this binder type deal. http://www.macyummies.com/ma17pusibi.html The nice part about it is that you can use the computer while still in the binder, just flip it open…

The exact problem is that, it trickle discharges with ac plugged in. I don't mind that it doesn't get up to 100%. It's just that it ends up dropping to 95-94% and recharging. It usually takes a week or so to discharge, but it's consistent about i…

Okay, so it helped some for sure. But had a strange side affect. I dumped the folder wed. night, and it took until thursday night for the generic favicons to show up. Weird.

What the last post said. Same thing for me. Started with an Apple II, loved those tiny computer in a box years, the SE, etc(although never actually owned one). Had a LCIII for high school and started using internet with a screaming 14.4 modem. T…

Okay, so that was weird. i tried to post this topic. I'm curious if anyone is planning on buying the new command and conquer game. I just read the preview on inside mac games. It looks awesome, especially the preview videos, even if that is ther…

And just realized that camera is covered in all the other links posted. Oops.

I have to say though, what kind of action? Because even the Digital Rebel can miss things. I don't remember what it's sustained shot capacity is, but might be a good idea to check the specs. For price, anyone know about the Canon 8mp camera that …

Interesting thread, I just posted about being semi-lost in osx forum a while ago. I have that ingrained system 7 and 8 in my brain(skipped 9). So moving to jaguar has been quite a change. Went and bought the missing manual, huge help. I think th…
