If money is not an issue go with the 2.5 it will last you longer than the others. Get your RAM after market though as Apple's RAM prices are outrageous.

You can get them cheaper on ebay. I have used the old style on new books as well they don't glow but they work.

I have two Lexars a 128mb and a 512mb both were plug and play and work on Macs, Windows, and Linux with no issues.

I've run Yellowdog and Debian on my powerbook with very few issues. Mandrake is testing a new PPC version as well I haven't had a chance to try it yet though. I love Linux on Apple hardware myself it is great.

I have multiple PCs but only 1 Mac, but all my PCs run Linux not Windows. My Mac dual boots with OS X and Linux.
