I find this as good news. The plastic MacBook was a great design. I have the new aluminum MacBook, and my daughter has the white. The white appears much more durable. And the 999 is important. The aluminum still wins on the trackpad and lower…

This is a really neat thread ! ! Beautifully done ! ! Just to confirm, are the images (a) the actual physical size of the respective "books", or (b) a rendering based on the number of pixels at a given density? Thus are we talking about…

I agree, Walmart is hardly the place to buy and iPhone or TV or some such. But I love the store. It is a great place to walk, and I trust their prices. A year ago I went to our big grocer here, and my favorite chips were on sale for $2.79. I b…

A little off target Does anyone have a guess when the exclusivity with ATT could possibly end, for example with say a new phone? Or, when one could get an Apple phone without a data plan?

Thanks ! ! ! ! Done, it works !

This thread was a real eye-opener for me. I just checked the Amazon best-selling list, and the net books are everywhere ! ! ! Apple must go in this direction, with something, soon, or it will lose real marketshare.

I would really like to get two iPhones but have no use for the required data plans, 60 dollars extra. Does anyone have any clue when Apple might allow this?

I am think of getting a MacBook this week. This kind of issue would bother me. Has Apple acknowledged the problem?

I know it is a little off topic, but is the 250 hard drive on the new 2.4 MacBook faster than the drive on the new 2.0 GHz?

I am still confused over all this. I do not play games on the computer, basically just word processing and Internet. Is the new 2.0 MacBook noticeably faster than the previous white? Is it 1/2 pound lighter? Besides the trackpad, is ther…

I think it is the turmoil about the economy. People just don't want to hear such news when there are financial troubles brewing. And I like the point about free advertising mentioned above. I think Apple should at least wait for one quiet wee…

On the wireless hotspots, if I get an iPhone 3G and use it for a phone without the data plan, can I walk into Starbucks or Panera and use the Internet? What about my own wireless home network? Even further, can I use MobileMe? Thanks!

I would like to get an iPhone WITHOUT the data plan, especially if it will work with wireless hotspots. Is that possible?

Anyone know if these people are still in line? And, are there others in line? Thanks, Henry Ledgard

Hot Dog ! ! Subtle on Apple's part. Thanks ! ! Sincerely, Dr. Ledgard

I guess I have to join the chorus. I really dislike the glossy screen, and someone who bought one a year ago really dislikes it too. I would pay extra for the non-glossy option as a build-to-order. Dr. Ledgard

I can't see 20-25% either. I really like the Air, but still think laptop users would much rather get the MacBook, more powerful and cheaper.

I too believe Apple should eliminate all glossy displays. I know they look cool in the store, but they are just wrong. And the cinema displays MUST stay matte. The iMac glossy is plain ugly. Does any one know the stats on the MacBook Pro for…
