Absolutely spot on with the problems on the Finder views not retaining their settings, the Dock folder previews, the glassy look and the transparent Menu bar. The Finder not being able to retain icon settings unless you specify otherwise is reall…

"Don't forget the butter?" Geez, we're quoting dodgy '70s arthouse/porno films now?

It's worth noting that several Adobe apps have Opera lurking inside them. It's what they use to render the HTML help system they have.

Trillian I suppose

It doesn't look like Leopard's NTFS support has been significantly expanded. I would suggest partitioning the drive into multiple, smaller FAT32 segments as a workaround.

There are several applications and widgets which can show you the temperature of your Mac's innards. Personally, I use the iStat Pro widget. The iStat Nano widget will also do the business. For a bunch of other apps, have a look at MacUpdate.c…

Can we now point and laugh at all the posters who insisted that Leopard would never ship this month, or that it was going to be delayed longer than Vista?

Use Pacifist to extract the Garage Band package from the install DVDs that came with the iMac. If I remember correctly, the iLife apps should be on the second install DVD.

Which browser are you using? Safari? Firefox? Are they all slow? For Safari: empty the browser cache, clear your history and cookies, delete the "Icons" folder from ~/Library/Safari. And get rid of any 3rd-party plug-ins/extensions which might…

The latest beta of Leopard has Front Row enabled even on machines without the IR sensor. You can access it by running the Front Row.app from /Applications or by hitting command+esc. No idea if it'll make it like that into the GM though.

I really don't like the way the Leopard Finder doesn't remember individual window view settings, unless you go through each window and set it to "Always open in icon/list/column view". Changing between icon, list, column and cover flow now applie…

I had a similar problem where the hard disk (or fan) on my PowerBook G4 would make a high pitched whining sound after using it for a short period of time. The problem receded after I changed the Energy Saver preferences from "Better Performance" …

Pro Tip: Try to wait more than one day before moaning that nobody is helping As for connecting as PS2 to a Cinema Display: you could use a PS2 video cable with a DVI converter. Alternatively, you can use a VGA converter like this one, but that w…
