Since you brought it up, can you explain to me what relationship companies like Sonnet have, if any, with companies Motorola/Freescale? It never struck me as a substitute for Freescale or anyone else Apple may rely on for CPUs for the eMac or anythi…

Quote: Originally posted by xflare I played on a eMac for a few minutes in a shop today, the screen seemed a bit disappointing to me, everything looked a little too soft. I wondered if somone had played around with the display settings, but when…

Quote: Originally posted by mmmpie Although it would appear that some emacs have good monitors, they are pretty mediocre. They suffer from fairly bad moire, and relatively poor geometry. If you play the right music you'll get the shimmer ( its no…

White and shiny like the iPod, iMac G5 and iBook since it became a chiclet. You may consider those ugly, but most others don't. I should admit, though, the eMac needs to go on a diet...

I was actually hoping for a graphics card with 64 megabytes of dedicated memory, if you mean me. But I guess the buyers will somehow deal if Apple gets cheap. I almost bought an eMac with a mere 32 MB of the stuff anyway. And before someone brin…

Well, if all other specs are equal or comprable, why not?* The eMac's horizontal orientation will certainly assist the performance of its optical drives, which was a complaint made of the iMac G5 when it was launched. If Apple decides to make all it…

Unless it's been stated before, consider that Steven P. Jobs and the company both seem to value fully featured portables. Some of those laptops you showed through links seem interesting, especially with IBM biometrics. But remember; while you may no…

Apple's online store has very recent iBook G4s for perusal on a regular basis. Just check its red tag section on the bottom. But I don't think you should go refurbished. Like the previous poster said, G4 processors are the way to go; 800 megahert…

Yes. You can purchase AppleCare until a year after you bought your PowerBook, which would be in March of 2005 in your case.

Apple products have a year-long warranty attached, along with 90 days of complimentary phone support.

Quote: Originally posted by onlooker No it's not too early. 2 months 15 days. 2 &1/2 months. That's not that far away. What do you expect to see at MWSF? I think PowerMac will be there. Maybe the Powerbook as well. What do you think, o…

It looks a bit odd, but the U2 fans who aren't offended by the implications will be pleased, I guess. I'd have to see it in person to know for sure. But it's nice, isn't it, to see Apple this busy this year, especially when some of us thought it'd b…

Crucial.com can tell you. Use their finder that starts at their homepage and follow their instructions. It would take only a minute or two.

Drop both and see. While the current iBook isn't the weakest kid on the block, I have the impression that the current iBook G4 is not so rugged as the original. The old iBooks had much thicker enclosures, enclosing the computer's components in …

This change came very late in the iBook G3 model, and continued through the G4 offerings. Before that, the shape was the same but the finish and keyboard were different, and before that, of course, there was the original and immensely rugged iBook.

Well, RAM is meant to be user-upgraded in modern Apple notebook computers, and Crucial RAM is good in my book. You shouldn't have a problem, and apple.com and the computer's manual have detailed instructions.

This is a reasonable deal, to be honest. I was considering an iMac G5 for 2005, but this is impressive. As tens of people have said before me, this could be tweaked to perform its role better, in terms of graphics, RAM and price, but this is definit…

Surprising if true. I thought Delphi was making speaker docks for XM devices, with the intention of using it indoors?
