I somewhat expect them to shift the line down. The i7 will be the standard high end model, the i5 will replace the core2duo 27" and hopefully we'll see the i5 appear in the high end 21"

http://www.hardmac.com/news/2009/10/...uture-xeon-cpu Given this news, the mac pro might finally be worth it's somewhat inflated price tag over the rest of the mac range and not to mention it would leave apple wide open to produce a consumer i7 m…

The single core Mac Pro is about the closest to an xMac we are going to get unfortunately. Honestly the machine is really poor value for money, they should chop it down to £1,200 or that kind of range, similar to the cost of the previous generat…

Don't get me wrong, but hopefully psystar will make Apple realize they need a machine to compete in the market sector. Seriously guys, a mid range desktop can exist alongside an all in one. The pro was *almost* mid range, the last iteration wi…

What's the chances they'll just toss these out on tuesday, or think they'll make us wait a few weeks for an event

Why does everyone go on about sales cannibalization. Plenty of other manufactures have standard desktops alongside AIO units with sales of both being fine. But somehow apple is a special case because they'd reap a few less bucks from people buyin…

Considering Apple are making a big push towards being "green" the macbook is somewhat of a relic in that respect, personally i think they'll push out a new chassis material soon, possibly with a LED backlit screen (hey, netbooks have them, it's hard…

It is quite possible that apple will skip USB3 for their own standard, Light Peak, co-developed with intel. http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/26/e...ntel-could-be/

AMD produce decent chips, but Apple are enjoying a certain partnership with Intel at the moment. i doubt they will betray that. To be honest the mini's future depends on what deals they have with hardware vendors, Intel seem to want to phase out …

obviously the next imac is going to be 12mm thick, and run from an Atom processor using intel's new on-dye GPU. ... Seriously though, i'd happily accept the iMac putting a little weight on if it means a good CPU. http://www.engadget.com/2…

As much as i like my macbook, it's a real pain plugging and unplugging my phone, external drives, tablet, etc. every time i wanted to go portable and i was hoping to get a desktop mac at some point. But i was really waiting for the imac to go qua…

A lot of people seem to think that new desktops will be launched this month, or early into the next... Apple simply didn't launch them at macworld out of, well, spite. judging from the comments made by apple employees in the past few weeks.

Apple will reduce prices across the range by 20% ... but only in America

What can we expect for specs, something similar to the current macbook?

this 'x mac is the single processor mac pro' is reaching meme levels of annoyance

likely just maintenance, if its an update its more likely to be a quiet bump than a new product

Even if un-announced i won't mind seeing the following (minor) updates too the imac line.. > Improved displays, replace the dirt cheap one used for the 20" with a reasonable one > Drive bump, 500 gig default on 2.4 models > E-Sata port…

what, and no xMac, The Mac, whatever mac. basically mid range desktop mac. but thats not such a catchy name, prediction? this is admittedly what i would expect from one, and mostly want. Single CPU, default dual core, optional quad core betwee…
