Quote: Originally posted by Ender Howdy, has any announcement been made as to when the X800 will become available? I'm probably going to order a G5 this week or so, and I'm thinking I will go with the Radeon 9800 because the 6800 is so much more…

My Radeon cards are working just fine, including the 9200. The FX 5200, OTOH, has had its share of problems over the last year. There were major performance issues with 10.3.3. and 10.3.5 (poor Homework 2 owners...). D'oh, make that Homeworld 2…

The ROM updates only affect Retail cards. They are not for OEM cards. The ATI Displays app is just a utility which includes OpenGL Overrides, which allows one to set things like FSAA and Anisotropic Filtering on a per app basis. It's particularly…

The statement about having no Mac publisher was a few weeks ago. It may not hold true today. Remember, a lot of times the Mac publishers won't announce that they received the rights to a game until sometime afterwards. So it's quite possible that…

Quote: Originally posted by Powerdoc I expect that the 9600 pro of My G5 could be used in my G4 533 to replace the old geforce 2 mx. An ATI employee mentioned that the OEM 9600 will not work in older machines because it's set for 8xAGP on…

I bought me an import GameCube and added a switch to it to make it Universal So I've been playing Rogue Leader since it was first available for sale. Man, I suck at that game!

How about trying the publisher's tech support? I'm 100% sure they cover the console topic. Then you just type in: connect some.ip.address And honestly, you'll get better game related help from a Mac gaming forum like http://www.insidemacga…

AFAIK, many of the data files remain the same across platform, but there are certain game libs which have been recompiled for PPCs which is why you can't just drag and drop PC files to get the full version to work.

And if you don't have the newer disks, then you'll have to have Classic installed and working as well. If that isn't possible, then you might have to install it on someone elses Mac and then move it to yours.

Diablo II definitely plays best in Software mode in OS X for both ATI and NVIDIA cards, and when using anything NVIDIA related, in both 9.2.2 and 10.2.3. RAVE under 9.2.2 is alright with ATI cards, but IMO runs better in Software mode. Software mod…

I've heard rumors that 10.2's OpenGL has the pixel shader stuff implemented. NVIDIA was showing off their cards with 10.2 a few weeks ago weren't they? I believe they had the pixel shader demos running.
