I dont rember where but if you google "taking apart shuffle"" or sommit like that, some guy has made a guide on how to take apart the shuffle it also covers how to replace the battery. Hope that helps!

Turn you iMac off Simple, it take less than 30sec for the iMac to start up so its hardly any different

Its probably the cable that goes from the screen to the mother board being faulty. if its not that then it could be the screen inverter or the motherboard

Ive got the 17" iMac G5, the fan does get loud but only when playing a heavy graphics game or when using large files in Photoshop, but when just using safari or word or simple stuff, the fans are whisper quiet.
