upgrading to 1gb from 512mb you should see a performance boost of about 10-15% depending on what your doing.

Talking of external sound systems which are the best of there for a movie like experience. Soundsticks seem to be a solid system. I have the iSub and that works great, any other suggestions?

I ordered mine on the day it was announced, but mines still not shipped yet. It was estimated to ship on the 15th. I ordered a 20" with 256mb graphics and the 2.33ghz upgrades. wheres my Macintosh?!

The logic board can be broken even if it is working on and off, that is one of the signs of a failing logic boards. A lot of the ibook G3s worked on and off when they were having logic board trouble.

I reccommend a G5 Quad. Purely because CS2 isn't universal and will run at speeds of a high end G4 on intel machines.

To replace the screen you need remove alot of parts if its simular to the G3. You almost need to go down to the logic board. I did this repair to my G3 in about 3.5-4hours so it does take time, and Id recommend you get Apple to do it if you have the…

id recommend getting a 500.600,700mhz iMac G3 there pretty cheap, but if you want garage band just invest in an 700mhz G4 eMac or Mac Mini

Ive got the same midplane issue, Took it back to Apple and its currently being repaired, they said it could take upto 3-4 weeks because a shortage of replacement midplanes I guess it might be a common issus with the iMac g5's

you should be able to eject the cd with a paper clip, try resetting the PRAM, then try (if you have to macs) target disc mode (hold t at start up) if it works ok then it might be your hard drive, but if not take it to an apple store.

I pretty sure you could get it to boot to OS9 Try finding your iBooks origanal disks on eBay or summit Ive had OS9 running on newer macs so I dont see why it should't work
