More than welcome, Aaron. Welcome to the fold. It's quite silly that to some that Apple's laptop's only ship with one button, but it somewhat makes sense. Personally, I never use the laptop buttons anyway, and where I do it's with my wrist. …

Just to clarify, OS X and Macs support any number of mouse buttons. Not just one, not just two, not just three.
-
Firstly, it is never said "MAC" by Mac users because Mac is short-speak for Macintosh, and is not an acronym. Secondly, I'm using a Mac right now, and plan to send this post using my Microsoft 5-button side-scrolling Intellimouse Explorer. In sim…

Bugger hell. It doesn't help that my birthday's Sunday. Kind of a slight, although not Apple's fault. Haha.

Now Fex Ex is saying it won't arrive 'till the 6th. Don't the dorks ship on weekends? So much for two day shipping. I'm quite displeased.

Seems I'll be getting my glossy screened model Friday. Not sure if it's different from the Macbook version, though.
-
I totally disagree. Glossy just makes the screen pop. Matte screens are nice enough, but once your eyes get used to glossy? Mmm.. And no, it's not like staring at glass.

It's ABSOLUTELY worth it, but if you want to defer the initial cost of your purchase, waiting 'till the 11th month or when you ned it is a better option. That's what I'm doing - it's one of the nicest parts about Apple's warrenty plan.

Man, what's the average age here, 30?' And we're all gitty like little schoolkids at Christmas. It's hilarious - you'd never see Dell's do this to grown-ups.
-
I'd look, just to see how ugly the arrangement would be and laugh. ...Since, well, I'll never un-box a Dell. lol

Can't say I've taken a desktop monitor on an airplane. It's quite fine upstairs, during the day, in direct sunlight, however. They're surprisingly tolerable. All sunlight does it cut down on the viewing angle.

The glare is really much less than you all think it is. I have a glossy Sony LCD for my Mini and it's absolutely wonderful - very easy to clean and makes all the colors just POP. I wouldn't go any other way with my MBP.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the speed difference between my 1.25GHz G4 Mini with 512mb to my 2.16 MBP. I remember years ago, the first time I used one of the dual 1.25GHz PowerMac G4's, hooked up to a 23" plastic Apple LCD... I crapped m…

I'll let someone else answer the questions regarding C2D's potential thermal/power advantages or dissadvantages, but from the perspective of someone who just bought a C2D MBP, I'd argue in favour of the newest model. My reasons for this are simpl…

Crappy... Oh well. I'll wait three months before buying Applecare on it - doing as much keeps my initial cost lower, thankfully. As strange as this sounds, after two years of PPC, I'm really looking forward to running Windows now and then again.…

Like it DID, aplnub? What changed?

I saw an advertisement page on both Edmonton Futureshop and Best Buy Catalogues this morning (as delivered with my newspaper) for Toshiba's running C2D available in store. The 15"ers, all of them, KILLED Apple on Ram and hard drive space included, a…

I just finished ordering mine about a half hour ago - base model 15", but with the glossy screen. They're estimating a ship date of Tuesday, but, of course, I ordered expidited shipping to lessen the delay thereafter. This'll be my second Mac ev…

How's the quality of the MBP's current glossy screens, then? Apple, of course, isn't upfront about specs.

I suppose this means that the new MBP's that launch in April will have way better screens then, hmm?
