But the battery level problem is one of many I've read about. I assume the first Software Update for iPhone will be nontrivial.

The article is informative, but the headline is baiting. Pure and simple.

How does any information in that article add up to the headline? Congratulations, AppleInsider, you got your hits for the day.

Any takers on Apple joining the Dow 30 within 5 years?

Any VPN fixes?

An Apple/Starbucks merger is a bit far-fetched, as each company is far too invested in its own brand, but I think a very strong alliance is likely.

Like Starbucks or not, lots of persons buy lots of drinks there. Like iPod or not, lots of persons own them. Both Apple and Starbucks share the same sense of cool and hipness. This synergy seems like a no-brainer. If Steve's mention of The Beatles c…

Me and my third arm bud could care less.

Melgross has it right. What is with all these kneejerk negative reactions? Have any of you worked on retail-bound software? I haven't, but I know those who do, and there are thousands of moving parts outside of the code itself -- namely the many bus…

Anything in there about VPN? Until my admin fixes OpenSwan, I can't get in through the Mac because it sends my NATed IP along with my public one.

I'd love to see some DVR capabilities, since I'm sure my DVR/SatBox combo is likely to die in the next year, but that probably doesn't fit with Apple's strategy. A boy can dream.

I'm not going to cave in to doom and gloom. Steve Jobs wears the pants in this relationship. All he has to say is that anyone with a decent internet connection and an iPod will no longer have access to UMG's catalog, then they'll cave. (Remember,…

Please bear in mind that I'm merely speculating. Besides market penetration, Apple's other challenge is drawing the line between integrating mobile phone functionality into the iPod form factor and OS and creating a new device that acts as a "mob…

Apple must realize they have more of a battle in the mobile phone market than they did in the digital music player market. Mobile phones are an established ubiquitous accessory, much like iPods are today. The advantage Apple offers is a more tightly…

Hasn't it recently been established that the next big leap in iPods won't be touch screens but rather "touch edges?" I'd much rather see that than an invasive "click wheel" in the middle of the screen. Plus, fingerprints in a screen are bad.

iTV is Apple just dipping its toe in the water. With their stores of cash and clout, they can afford to put time and money into a potential failure like iTV. Mind you, they don't have Microsoft Money, so they're not about to price the iTV at a loss.

Apple is taking its time with the killer-app within the killer-app -- the "built-in" screen click wheel. What confuses me is the intended ratio for the rumored vPod. Will it be 4:3? Is it meant for widescreen? Is any of this stuff meant for widescre…

Whoa. iPod porn.
