Well, I wouldn't want one, since I can't use it with iTunes, but it is certainly cool. Looks great. Well done Sony.

evilcat, I normally think it is good to buy and enjoy, but Tiger is very close, and new iMacs may be close too. In this case, I would wait. At least until Tiger comes out, and maybe there will be new iMacs then too.

Fitzy, I do not own an iMac, but it is an awesome machine. Have you visited an Apple store by chance to try one out? Of course, it won't compare to actually having it in your home. It is a very capable machine. Plus, since you'll own a mac,…

Yes, I see general stores everywhere have a bias against Apple products. They have grown-up in recent times being taught to love Windows machines, and that Macs are slow, so at the same time they now do not trust Apple iPods. It is very strange.

Maybe I will do a clean install too, but I really hate to.

Sounds like Tiger to me.

I *really* want to do the simple "upgrade." Is there a lot of risk in doing this? My machine is not very old, and I keep things cleaned out. Everything works perfect and is setup exactly as I like it, running smooth.

I'm not sure if it was this forum, but someone said the DVI->VGA adapter that Apple includes with Mac Mini is not very good. They said one they purchased at CompUSA made all the difference, with his/her Mac Mini and VGA display. I guess this …

On the day the shuffles came out, I was in an Apple store, and one employee said to another: "that thing is junk."

blackwave, I'm glad it worked, for you. I like hearing stories like these. I used my PC notebook in my car, in the same way with a tape adapter, before I owned a Mac or iPod.

You could do this: Once you know when they will do the $20 upgrades for Tiger, order a Mac Mini, from Amazon.com or something. It will come with Panther, send in for your $20 Tiger upgrade, and use that disk on both machines. Of course, this wo…

When I had my Mac Mini, it had lines moving across the screen too. It was connected via VGA. Also, with my Powerbook, when I had it connected to VGA LCD it had lines moving across the screen. That is why I bought the Apple Cinema Display. It se…

Wow. That is very interesting. I don't see why they would have Tiger on the machines tomorrow. We were only expecting them to give us a ship date tomorrow, not actually make it available.
