  • Doesn't anybody here use computers for things other then games? This is the same old same whine. Buy a console as suggested and let the computer be used for useful, productive things.
  • I'll bet the specs are almost correct. I read that there is a mistake in the number on the graphics card? You'l probably be able to get a build to order so you can play your games. We'll see. I think its interesting that this upcoming new iMac ma…
  • Here we go again! The same comments and arguments come up every-time Apple introduces a revised iMac. Apple cannot bring the computer in at Dell's commodity prices. Apple needs higher margins. Apple cannot buy "off the shelf" components from a…

  • LCD screens, unless you buy the very expensive ones, are lousy for graphic arts use. Colors are way off on the ones that Apple uses. CRTs are still the best at accurate colors and at reasonable price points.
  • Could this be? Nah. Would be too expensive to manufacture... or would it?

  • In all fairness "Apple's manufacturing deficencies" are actually their vendor's manufacturing deficencies. Apple doesn't make any of their products anymore. However, a new product every 2 weeks until the end of the year? Timing would seem to be o…
  • As I said the G5 is completely different in form factor from the G4. The LCD iMac was a completely different form factor then the CRT, even though there was speculation that the only basic change would be an LCD screen... heck SJ even went over tha…

  • Word on the grapevine (red flame seedless are my favorites) is that the new iMac is very "simple" looking and takes cues from the PowerMac. Seems to be a given that it will. I think the G5 chip will not be 2 GHZ however. Maybe two offerings... 1.…
  • A couple of things. ThinkSecret just posted an article about "contraints" in shipment of G5 products (PowerMacs, X Serves) and continuing "demand outstripping supply" of iPod mini's. This is not unexpected. If anyone paid attention to the last co…
  • This is all rather strange as I seem to remember a report a month or so ago that Napster was losing tons of money on their music venture while software continued to be profitable. I guess they are indeed betting the farm on a future collaboration w…
  • The subject of a video iPod hsa been discussed an infintum on many other posts. Steve Jobs/Apple has said there will be no video iPod. The iPod is a music device. Repeat that.... the iPod is a music device. Who wants to watch a film on a tiny 2 …
  • Getting back to the subject of this thread, here's an article on the dismal sales so far of tablet PCs: Quote: Lacklustre Tablet PC sales suggest no Mac version [MacUser] 12:12 The chances of Apple introducing a tablet-style Mac appear to be…
  • Outsourcing of manufacturing is a reality nowadays. Apple really hasn't made any of their products for several years now. It's cheaper to go overseas you know. Heck, even Sony doesn't make many products in Japan anymore because of labor costs.
  • Although the Cubes look nice in colors, Apple's done that and they won't do it again. Also they are much too big in the rendering. As stated, the iMac is AIO. Funny, we're less then 30 days away from the the unveiling and there's still no info - …
